Food quality and taste was nice. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a Sunday night. We were given a table straight away. However despite the place being quiet the service was poor. They took ages coming across and taking our drinks orders and then the food order. We waited ages before the drinks arrived and our food. The staff seemed to be more interested in chatting and being on their mobile phones all of the time. Having worked in restaurants myself this is particularly rude. The dum biryani was very tasty as were the nan and meat dishes. Overall it was worth a visit but sadly the service let it all down.
The food was amazing and plentiful, with a great atmosphere too, will definitely come back next time I'm in Birmingham.
One of the few restaurants in Birmingham that do a proper Balti and, as usual , my sizzling Balti chicken, aubergine and mushroom was superb as was the starter of meat samosas. Photo shows the 'remains' of my Balti ...none! A restaurant always worth a visit in the search for Birmingham's legendary dish.. Incidentally, the staff were excellent .
I had a chicken vindaloo, naan, onion barji and a mango lasi. Bloody lovely. Can't fault the service or food. It was 6pm on Saturday so quiet. The food arrived after about 10-15 minutes and I walloped back every mouthful of fiery goodness.
We eat quite early so when we came in at 18:20, the restaurant was quiet but it soon filled up and by the time we finished dining, it was buzzing with activity and was super cozy. The staff were super lovely and kind. A young lady was being trained and was super sweet, the lady training her was polite and patient - great to see. It was also great to see the young gentlemen who were still teens when we came here for the first time 7 years ago. Food is otherworldly! I always go back to lasawalla gosht and it never fails to satisfy. What a joy to dine here!!!
