How HalalRank works

HalalRank is a confidence score we assign to each restaurant — from 0 to 100% — reflecting how strong our evidence is that the food is halal. When we know information - halal authorization, owner reassurance, etc. - we share that with you. But building confidence in the halal-ness of a restaurant is a team effort. And you play a part.

How it works

We aggregate evidence from several sources: halal-certifying authorities, supplier records, trusted halal media, user-submitted photos, conversations with restaurant staff, and our own admin review, and then assign a score based on how trustworthy and timely those points of data are.

If you want to help modify the HalalRank score, add your information and we will automatically recalculate the HalalRank of a restaurant to reflect your additions.

HalalRank is not a guarantee. A high score reflects strong evidence at a point in time; restaurants change. When in doubt, always ask the restaurant directly.
