Café Nur is The place to go be it single, as a couple or family. It is an intimate space with an outdoor setting, a warm atmosphere and welcoming staff calling us to the Mediterranean sea. The owners are muslims. There was one person praying in the back (kitchen i think). The food is quite delectable (delicious!). The service impeccable. The place and kitchen clean and well organized. It is family friendly with highchairs available and a few settings outside with their sunshades. You can also take to go if your prefer. The café is at the perfect spot in downtown Los Altos for a nice walk afterwards although the food at the restaurant is so healthy you wouldn't have any issue digesting it. Family was over from Chicago and so we went there for a late lunch (this was awesome to find the café to serve you at any time). So two families with three children and we ordered kebabs, shawarma plates and wraps, taboulé salads and lentil soup (soup of the day), etc. Fantastic! I so love the turkish bread! And loved the wrap although not usually fond of them. I'm not into the tea but the turkish coffee is famous. The baklawa was nice too. Ironically, it tasted light (although you know it's not- we're not kidding anyone here haha) so extra point for me. One of the family members was a restaurant manager in Manhattan so he knows his stuff when he says he liked it! And the prices are reasonable!
Tried the beef kebab plate with one skewer of chicken added. Not too much meat on the skewers but it tasted good. Also they do not give any garlic sauce or hummus on the plate, which usually other places do (nothing to dip your pita bread in). Also tried the Mousakka with Chicken which was pretty good. Complimentary black tea is a plus. Friendly service. Small interior, but they also have some seating available outside.
Fantastic food and service!
Great food. We went there for breakfast. Staff was nice and helpful. We ordered the Turkish Breakfast and the Shaksuka. Both were excellent. Got complimentary tea refills. Overall good breakfast experience. Will return to try their gyros and other Mediterranean dishes.
