we ordered chello kabob and though it was a good deal paying $8.99 with two skewers made of ground meat. We paid $30 for 3. They had made skewers so thin. after eating it I was not even half full. The owner seem nice person but he is tricking people with the menu saying two skewers of meat while so small portion is given. I hate when restaurant owners try to make money from everything. How much it would cost for ground beef in this country maybe 70c more for larger skewer. Ground beef is $2.99/lb in Houston. The rice pilaf also did not have any taste.

It's Iraqi cusine not persian. The managment is great, food is delicious especially the Zubaidi Fish. The tables are clean. What I like the most is that the manager is a good Muslim wich makes me comfortable with the meat he uses.

I went to Saffron Kabob for lunch hoping to get some good Afghan food. The food was mediocre, lacked inspiration and was rather bland. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to get some good food, I should have chosen from the many other restaurants on Hilcroft.

The management changed here last year. I have visited it 3 times in the last 6 months and been impressed by the food each time! Love the location, parking, food, management and great service! One correction: It is now called Saffron Kabob House - not Saffron Persian Grill.

If you haven't gone to this restaurant recently, you must go. They are under new ownership and also have a new menu which includes Afghan cuisine...the food is great!

Slow service, felt a bit ignored. Food is mediocre. Not a place to take your family, more like friends. Owner is friendly though.

I dined here with my family... one thing is that the service is very very slow.. even though the place was busy on a saturday night... when our food finally came.. they had given me a wrong order.. The taste of the food is mediocre.. it could be better.. the quality needs to become better. The owners are nice and young people.. hopefully things will become better over time.

The food was bland, lacking flavor. The chicken was dry. No veggies came with my skewer dish, only dried out pieces of chicken and plain white rice. I asked for some veggies and the guy said, "You have to pay extra" No wonder the place is always empty

I went to this place and was told their meat was NOT halal. Their hummus and bread were great though!
