i dropped in at Zaika's after being recommended highly to me. stood stood stood. the chap rolling some dough just ignored me. tried to order something ... anything ... like somoosas ... he couldnt help me. he could not understand english. he signalled that the person was somewhere at the back and called out in urdu ... and he went on rolling the dough. after waiting for a while, i left. it was the wierdest eating exp i ever had.

Zaika's is one of my favorite restaurants in Cape Town. My usual order (when I'm in Cape Town)always includes Butter Chicken Curry, Naan and 2 mango lassi's - usually take-out (my house is down the road, but I'm currently living in Texas) Though the restaurant has a small sit-down section, it is usually best to call ahead to place your order then pick it up. I don't know if they currently have a delivery service. They used to.
