Food is among best Mughlai style I've had in the city (or anywhere for that matter), portions are too small though. Service has consistently been sub-par. Very small venue, in keeping with a family-type ambiance. Go during off-peak times at your own risk. You will encounter a half-functional kitchen, and annoyed waitress. The take-aways next door is a must-visit too. They share the same kitchen!
Bibi's has an awesome reputation for fine Indian cuisine. The traditional Mughlai style dishes are exemplary and the desserts are a treat. However, the restaurant lacks atmosphere and borders on the pretentious. Portions are tiny and could be improved. Overall, this restaurant is not a cheap eats venue but in defence of the prices charged, one has to concede that the quality of the food is good. They do not tolerate alcohol and a request for BYO was met with a rather haughty attitude and smug disapproval. I find this disconcerting as it should really be a matter of choice for the customer, not the proprietor. Bibi's has a built-in 10 per cent service charge for diners but there are expectations of a tip in addition to this impost. Mostly this is ignored. Off street parking is also a bit of a problem.
