A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises.. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
Home of great Indo-Pak food. We have been around for over two decades. Other Indo-Pak restaurants come and go, but Savoy Restaurant has kept it's consistency in food keeping true to highest and best quality ingredients. We invite you to come enjoy the real taste of Indo-Pak cuisine.

We had halwa puri there. It was ok. Aloo were meh, but chana were good. Purees were so so. Wasn\'t expensive, so nothing much to complain about. Will go again without hesitation.
Very blah. I ordered the halwa puri. Both the aloo and channay were drowning in oil and had absolutely no taste. The puris however were fresh and not too oily. My husband ordered the nihari. It was average. The naan were very fluffy and tasty. Service is ok. Food is mediocre.
From what i know the Restaurant is owned by someone who belongs to Ismaili Community (Aga Khanis) and i am not sure what is their definition of Halaal. However Brother Hafiz Umar contribution has been extremely helpful that their si a serious doubt in their Chicken being Halaal Are there any genuine Halaal restaurants in the close by vicinity as i dont live i US but occassionaly visit
Assalam-u-alaikum, I was a long time customer of this restaurant and really liked their food. One time I came with my entire family and another family. The owner took my father outside and told him the chicken is not 100% halal/zabihah. And after my father told me what he said, I asked the owner why did he tell me it was halal the whole time I was a customer, he replied that he saw my father had a long white beard and looked religious and he didnt want to feed him haram. I also have a beard except mine is not white. The owner has a beard himself and prays at the masjid right next to his restaurant and I can't believe he is deceiving muslims by telling them that his meat his halal. Astagfirullah, May Allah guide him, Ameen...until them my dear respected brothers and sisters in Islam please avoid this place. JazakAllah for your time.
food is ok. palak paneer was good. chicken tikka was good.
Desi atmosphere. Food is ok - chicken karahi taste good, but has too much oil in it, chai is excellent, lassi is great, other items are good but just too much oil and sometimes too spicey. Service is ok - the staff generally overcrowds the counter and seems careless about customer service.
Pricy store.
Food is good. Had Chicken Curry and Seek Kabab. Seek Kabab were not well done though. Lassi was good. I would definitely return to this place. I liked it.
everytime I have been here, I have never been disappointed. The food is really good and not pricey. Could do better on the ambience and the presentation. Not the one of those cleaner looking joints ... but hey, its usually the losuing looking joint that serves up the best tasting food.
I don't know what else to say but the food is great and it's been a staple for all Pakistanis who come to the US because it reminds everyone of home. The only problem is that their customer service isn't that good.
im very surprised the average is a 2.8. I have been going to Savoy for the last 10 years and I have watched it get progressively better both foodwise and atmosphere wise. They're tikkah kabobs, curries, nihari, paya are excellent. Most of the appetizers are very good except the chicken corn soup. Very nice staff.
I wouldnt say the food is horrible, its edible. Service was prompt, but not fancy. I remember this place when I was very young, and this was the first indian paki restaurant in houston, I have my old memories here. But still, if they perfect their food quality, maybe business will skyrocket.

I was recommended there by one of our family friends. The environment was very bad, the food was bad, it was very spicy. It was all served in paper plates, and their customer service was horrible. They walk up to your table and tell you your total, like there is no bill telling how much each individual items are, and when you pay them, they ask you, would you like your change back? I really dont see how this restaurant is still in business.
Just try two dishes- tikka and bihari boti too good!
overall good tasty desi food...also open late.
People seem to be really high on this but my experience wasn't pleasant, the food was very ordinary. I told them to put no spices (my daughter is allergic) but they loaded up!
Kabob, ALL BBQ stuff is wonderful !
yeah this place stinks...its TOO spicy! you cant even eat properly..and yes the infamous toilet smell wreaks the place...i cant belive people STILL eat inside of this place..and all the nonpakis that go there and THIS is the impression they get? uff
What a disgrace that a place with good food is turning away customers due to lousy service. While ordering at the counter I noticed that the guys behind the register were talking to me but looking at some girls standing in line behind us giving each other the elbow and making other gestures... the result?.... they totally screwed up my order and then insisted that the dishes that they served us with was what we ordered. Then they told us to eat and pay for what was served because it was better than the original order anyway! If I was the owner/manager I will fire all the staff, save the cook, and start all over again.
Went their one time while I was getting married:) What a great time too bad you all missed it just like a fairy tale. Anyway they are the only ones to serve Sugercane juice, not bad for american place, not like Karachi:) The food was OK eat ate home if you can.
The authentic bandoo khan style resturant. Items inckude excellent Karachi style biryani, great bihari kabaabs and chicken tikka. Nihari and chicken qorma are also excellent! If you eat there once you will never ever look for any other Pakistani resturants in Houston :)
I went to this resturant with high hopes but was very disappointed by the behaviour of the staff. After waiting a good 45 minutes and repeated reminders that the order is late, which they ignored, the waiter walks to us and tells us that the order is lost and asks if the order could be given again? The staff was not even apologetic about this incident and thought it was funny and were laughing. I was very disappointed and walked out from the resturant along with my family. Maybe they do have good food ( I have personally not tasted it) but they definitely need to improve their customer service.
