UPDATE ----June 2018-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Happy to report that in the 9 years, since my original review, Singapore Garden has maintained the quality and taste of it's food. The speed of service also has improved over the years. Their portion sizes are still massive and great value for money. Halal status is verified, No alcohol is served Original Review ----June 2009-------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have tried nearly 20-25 Indo-Chinese eateries in the GTA and Singapore Gardens beats everybody hands down in terms of consistency of food quality, taste and value for money. The only drawback is the slow service. Unlike, many such establishments which serve alcohol, they are totally alcohol-free which shows their commitment to their Muslim clientele.

Halal status verbally confirmed and there is a certificate on display as well. They claim to source from Brampton halal. Decent portion sizes

Been here multiple times and each time I'm equally as satisfied. Staff is very friendly. Sometimes the food is a little too oily so I have to give it a 4/5.

Please be careful and STAY AWAY from this place. The Announcement now is and HAS been CONFIRMED that Singapore Garden is now getting Machined slaughtered meat, They still get from Brampton Halal but is mixed with the new source meat and the source is still unknown as I have made cold calls to ask about the source of where they purchase their meat. Now ask yourself, is this Zabiha? No!

Food is Average & Service is Average Will not return as they are alot of other gr8 Halal Hakka food options in the GTA

Terrible place. Waited over an hour for my takeout order only to experience below average food.

Assalam alaikum, my wife and our family have been coming here for years. The food is always very good and tasty and they will adjust the spicing to your desires. Although there is only a few parking spots in front of the restaurant, there is ample parking in the back of the hotel. This restaurant does a lot of take out business, so if you order on a busy night, there may a little wait for your food as there are many orders ahead of yours. However, the food is well worth the wait.

They are really good. Still they maintained their quality of food specially the corn soap and the chilli chicken.

Love this place. Totally clean... great location. Great decorations. AMAZING food... =). I don't live in Canada anymore, but we are going there for the summer this year, so I can't wait to go to Singapore Garden again! We used to go there a lot before, and the food was greatttt.

The food is good, service on weekend and evenings are slow. Manchurian Chicken Dry is my favorite meal.

Been to Singapore Gardens a couple times. Parking is a major issue at this place. Also the service is a bit too slow. The hosts are very polite. Food is good but nothing too exceptional. General Tao is way too sweet so dont order it unless you know what youre getting.

Excellent food. Is 100% halal, has been followed up on. Machurian chicken dry is so awesome! Just the right amount of spices. Service is slow, but the food is worth the wait :)

Me and my family have been going to Singapore Gardens for years. We enjoy the food, although it it's a long wait, it's definetley worth it.

Asalaamu Alaykum. The question of whether their meat is halaal or not is in question once again. According to an email sent out by concerned brothers and sisters it has recently it has been discovered that this restaurant has two suppliers of meat, Brampton Halal Meat & AM Meat. Apparently AM Meat does NOT supply Halal meat. Singapore Gardens does not purchase any chicken wings from Brampton Halal. It appears that Singapore Gardens Restaurant has been mixing the meat from the two suppliers and serving it as 'Halal' meat. So dear brothers and sisters it is good to be careful until it is clear.

The service was very poor and slow. It took over an hour for our food to arrive. Food was average, definitely not worth the hour wait.

By the name of Allah. When he was telephoned, the owner said that their meat is all halaal (purchased from Brampton Halal Meat), but that the chefs are Buddhist. According to some madhhabs, because the chefs are neither Muslim nor Ahlul-Kitab, there could be najaasat issues involved and therefore if the chefs touch the food with their wet hands - which is typically the case - then the food would not be permissible to eat.

Excellent Hakka Chinese cuisine, on par with Toronto's Chin Chin's and Chopsticks.

This is a decent restaurant. We checked with the lady serving us and she told us that every thing there is halal and they buy meat from Brampton Halal meat and to get more muslim customers they have completely stopped serving alcoholic drinks in the restaurant for some time now. Menu and service was good. It was packed with muslims by the time we left from there.

Very good food and well priced with generous servings. The ambiance is average but dont let the looks fool you cause the food is tasty.

We order from there once week you might have to wait but its worth it the food is very fresh and tasty!

Salam alaikum, my wife and I recently went here with a large party. We had heard a lot of good things about the restaurant. While the decor of the restaurant could be improved, the food was very good. Especially liked the szeshuan (spelling?) crispy beef and chilly chicken. Really, really tasty. The service is very good and the prices are quite reasonable.

I asked them and they confirmed they use halal meat. Nice chinese food good taste generous quantity.

"MSG Alert. If you are allergic to MSG, be very careful with eating here. The food is okay, slightly above average, but there are definately better places to eat chinese food out there. If you're craving Meat, cooked in Chinese Style, and are in Brampton, then this restaurant might hit the spot. It's not worth the drive to Brampton. But Brampton is worth the drive."

Did some investigating on the validity of Singapore Gardens Halal Meat. They order there Halal meat from Brampton Halal Meat located on 49 Kennedy Road. The shop owner there confirmed that they have been supplying halal meat to Singapore Garden for the past 5 1/2 years. He also mentioned that the owner has recently changed but the meat is still being supplied. Just be careful everyone.

"Actually, this restaurant is indeed halal. They don't buy from Zabeeha meat but they buy from Brampton Halal meat instead and after having a discussion over the phone with the restaurant and then with Brampton Halal, they confirmed that Singapore Garden has been buying from them for 6-7 years now. Yes the ownership did change 2 years ago but they still buy from Brampton Halal. Enjoy!"

BEWARE - This restaurant has changed ownership. On my last visit I asked the owner if the food was halal. She replied "yes, we buy or meat from Zabeeha Meat (a halal grocer)". My intuition said this women was lying. So I called Zabeeha and the owner said he does not supply her anything let alone halal meat. He said another customer had also called asking the same question. Therefore, brothers and sisters BE CAREFUL!

Very clean, family run Chinese resturant. As Muslims are their major customers, they use full halal ingredients. Excellent place for families to get together and enjoy a nice meal.
