1001 Nights Shawarma

One of the best shawarma places I have tried in kitchener. Always fresh and serving size is outstanding. I can barely finish my plate and I can eat a lot.

⭐️⭐️½ We’ve been regular customers at 1001 Nights Shawarma and have always come back because the food is usually flavorful and well made. The shawarma has a nice taste, the salads are generally fresh, and the overall quality is what made this one of our go-to spots. The staff are also friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience pleasant. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing, mainly due to portion size and value. We ordered a Sunday deal platter, and the portions were noticeably small for the price. The chicken portion was especially lacking, which is frustrating because when you order a platter, you really expect it to be generous on the protein. You hope for nicely seasoned, well-prepared chicken, but this time it felt minimal and underwhelming. Another letdown was the garlic potatoes. They were essentially just plain potatoes with little to no garlic flavor, which took away from what is usually a highlight side. For a restaurant known for bold Middle Eastern flavors, this felt like a missed opportunity. It’s disappointing because the food still tastes good, but the reduced portions and inconsistency make it hard to justify the price, especially for returning customers. Friendly service definitely helps, but value and portion size matter just as much. With more generous servings and better consistency, this place could easily regain its strong reputation.
