The owner explained that they offer "home meals" and she was right! The food was great, felt like it was cooked at home, and it was actually enough for two meals. Would definitely go back.
Buffet is worth trying as it contains variety of non-veg and veg items. They also have one Indo-Pak chicken dish (Chicken Makhini or Butter Chicken) in the buffet, along with a dessert, and yes, the tea is complimentary. Staff is very friendly. My kids go to local public schools and we catered from this restaurant for different school events like the Teacher\'s appreciation week, etc. Everyone has given very positive reviews.
Very delicious food, and very kind staff and owner.
The Mandi here was amazing. It was spicy and the meat was very tender. I did try the hummus as well which was good. The owner was really nice and offered free tea and dessert. I will be back for sure.
I've been here for their lunch buffet, for Iftaar and have also had their food at other events that used them as caterers. I have never been disappointed with their food! It's really quite good but my most favorite dish here is their kunafa. One of the best places to have it in this area!
Good Food! Um Ammar, the owner is a renowned caterer in the bay area and the restaurant has great choice of middle eastern food. The location is hidden behind an industrial belt, close to MCA though.
Food is great, less spicy; buffets are great too!
very good
The hummus and shish tawouk were awesome, and the keftah kabob was good. Very clean restaurant with very gracious owners/employees.
I have tried it a few times for the lunch buffet and once for a la carte. Buffet is decent, good quality food. The owner lady is very welcoming. From a la carte, tried their Zatar. Didn't taste good. My kids love zatar but they finish even one. Besides this experience everything else has always been very good.
the hostess/owner is indeed friendly and accommodating. I did not get the buffet -- took away kabob and hummus, which were both pretty good. rice was only average, a little clumpy and not as flavorful as I expected. Free tea as you wait is a nice touch. admittedly i was there late in the day, but the buffet did not look great to me (others were still having it though).
Feel at home as Um Ammar prepares whatever you order, or whatever it is that you do not order. Great hideout to kick back and be fed pure goodness. Taste the love that has poured into your freshly prepared dishes, and keep coming back for more.
Homecooked classics. All freshly made that very day, even on a Sunday! The hostess is hospitable, forthecoming and generous with her food. I recommend this humble spot. She deserves our support.
We had the buffet here and it was great. The food tastes authentic and homemade. They appear to be still trying to get the hang of running a restaurant but the owner is a known muslima.
Tried the Lunch buffet here on a friday a couple weeks ago. It was good, but I was not blown away. I had to ask for bread and salad, since it was finished in the buffet - but they did bring them to my table which was nice. They have friendly and good service. The restaurant is inside an industrial area, so it is kind of difficult to find. I will have to come back again to try the special menu items.
This is the best Mediterranean food I've eaten outside of Syria, and I've tried them all. No other restaurant in the Bay Area even comes close for flavor, freshness, and authentic taste of the Middle East. Um Ammar, the owner, is from Jordan, and she knows her business. The decor is simple, but immaculately clean, as is the kitchen and every aspect of the service. The restaurant is new, but Um Ammar already has a following for her catering. The restaurant is definitely off the beaten path (even if not so far in miles) so you are not likely to stumble onto the best Middle Eastern food I've ever found in the US. You will have to Google it to get there, but once found it is is easy to return. Let's just say I loved every thing I tried on my first outing, and I'll be back, and very soon. I could eat here every day. I tried the hummus, unique and wonderful; the Greed Salad (lots of feta, real Middle Eastern olives, lots of savory crumbled feta, crisp fresh lettuce, Arab cucumbers, fresh, ripe, firm tomatoes and crisp and flavorful bell pepper strips, add real olive oil, lemon and fresh herb dressing. Everything is made fresh, in-house, with a real sense of flavors. Next visit I'll try the Buffet, or some of the specialties, including freshly made dolmas and baba Ghanouj, or the eggplant plate. I've never tasted Mansaf, a Jordanian traditional dish made of lamb cooked in fermented fried yogurt, but after my first delightful experience I'm ready to try anything. PS even the rice was outstanding.
