Nice place, good food.
This place has by far the best Persian kabobs in the Bay Area. Small, nice, neat, and beautifully decorated place with a warm ambience. The service is great, a perfect complement to the wonderful food. Portions are reasonably large - aka Persian size. The only improvement I would like to see is computerize bills and accepting Amex credit cards! I checked about the meat and they reconfirmed that all meat is Halal.
Halal meat is served here based on verbal assurance from the staff. I tried the Yas special which is a Kubideh (ground beef kebab) and Cornish Game Hen Kebabs. Pretty good stuff. Also tried the chicken breast kebab. Also good. Comes with a lot of rice and a few pieces of the flat thin persian bread. Only thing which i wish they had was some hot sauce/chutney on the side, for us desis:)! I Got my food to go, so dont know how the service inside the restaurant is, but it looked pretty clean and nice inside. Prices were a little bit more than comparable places. Fast and Friendly service.
This is a really nice Persian restaurant with Authentic Persian Food. I have been coming here for over 20 years (It has been under its current management since 1996). Over the years they would go and off in having Zabihah meat or have a partial Zabihah menu, but it was confirmed to me today that they now have a full 100% Zabihah menu. I would still check when you go to be extra sure. I really like their Kush-ke-badaam-Jan (eggplant) as an appetizer as well as there Chicken Kubideh. Their Jujey Kaboob is really nice too. Service is really good, and the place is very neat and clean. Prices are not too bad, especially their lunch specials.
Yas Persian Restaurant is the kind of place that reminds you why simple food done right can feel unforgettable. I ordered the koobideh kabob with rice and grilled tomatoes, and every element was perfect. The kabob was juicy, tender, and beautifully seasoned, the rice was fluffy and aromatic, and the grilled tomatoes added the perfect smoky sweetness to balance everything out. The portions were generous, the flavors felt authentic and comforting, and you could tell the food was made with care. I finished every bite without hesitation. If you’re looking for delicious, satisfying Persian food, Yas is absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Portion sizes were pretty good. Kabobs pretty tasty! Host was very nice.
We stopped by Yas Restaurant late on a Friday night when they were just about to close (they had even turned their “Open” sign to “Closed.”) I still opened the door and asked if they were serving tea, and to my surprise they welcomed us in with so much warmth and hospitality. They served us fresh tea, and even brought out some Persian sweets like zulbia. At the end, they kindly served us baklava as well. The staff were incredibly friendly, and we felt truly welcomed the whole time. It was such a lovely, cozy experience in this family-run restaurant. We will definitely come back to try their Persian food next time. The atmosphere, kindness, and overall service were amazing. Thank you for such a wonderful late-night experience! ♥️✨
Terrible food, terrible service. Food took over 45 min from ordering to come out. The $16 Falafel came out with only 3 inedible rock hard balls over some iceberg lettuce drenched in white sauce. Chicken was dry. Steak was bland and not worth finishing. I had to go up to the bar about 5-6 times to get the server's attention. Finally they had the audacity to charge 20% REQUIRED SERVICE FEE for parties over 5. I'd give 1 star but they were able to take the falafel off the check after some back and forth arguing with the owner who said they've never had a complaint in 28 years. I highly doubt that.
I had an incredible dining experience here ,the food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The kebabs were tender and juicy, and the saffron rice was perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and authentic. You can really taste the quality and tradition in every bite. Definitely one of the best Persian restaurants in town ,I’ll be coming back for sure!
