This place used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but the quality has really declined in the past few years. The food always ends up giving us stomach aches (but it still tastes amazing). The service is terrible and I saw a roach there my last visit. I saw one other review which mentioned a roach so they likely have a roach problem.

Last time we went here, sat down to order and saw a cockroach crawling up the front wall. Called the waiter and he kicked his foot up against the wall, killing the insect as if it was no big deal. We walked out and haven\'t returned.

Food was OK, fiery hot and not kinda real Chinese's, but above all the most bothering was that the tables around us (after people left eating before us) no one was willing to clean the mess from floor or on tables even after requesting to the servers! That's to me a big NO to someone who spend money to have a nice place/environment to eat rather feel like eating by a dumpster! Yike

I stopped by here on a Saturday night for dinner. Zabihah Halal is clearly stated on the menu. I had inquired about the source of the meat and they mentioned they purchase from My Halal Meat Store located in Schaumburg. They also have the business cards for this halal meat store at the register. I think some folks on here have gotten dishes that were not what they were expecting. My party and I had the fried chicken momo for an appetizer (basically a fried dumpling with chicken in the center), the Manchurian noodles with chicken and the kung pao chicken. All were absolutely delicious. Our stomachs were full, but we wish we could have kept eating! Their weekday lunch special is also very good and a great value of soup, egg roll, and a dish for $10. I like that this place does not serve alcohol or pork. Inchin\'s Bamboo Garden, which is located in the same plaza, I believe serves alcohol.

2/10/2016 Went back with the family to dine. We had the Hot Garlic Momos (Chicken) and they were awesome. As usual the food is pretty good and we rarely dine here often as it is a bit pricey. 6/10/2011 Former owner of Hot Wok Village on Golf Road. Was informed that they serve Zabihah/Halal meat. Tried the Fried Rice and Chicken Pakora the portions was good but a bit pricey. Ok place for Halal Chinese Food.

Food is average. I think ownership/management changed recently. Used to be great but now they're just average.

I was there yesterday. Portions at good but food was so-so. I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken manchuria. I was forced to use the restroom after having food. Not going back there again!

We had a great experience here! We called ahead and verified that the beef and chicken are halal and they offered to show us the printed certificates as well. The restaurant was full on a Friday night but the service was good and the food came out quickly. We had the hot garlic noodles which were fantastic - spicy, tender, with chicken and lots of garlic flavor. We also had the thai red curry which was mildly spicy and better than similar thai curries at other halal thai restaurants. Others in our party had the szechwan beef, manchurian chicken, and the wings and really enjoyed it. The portions were large enough for us to have leftovers and prices were comparable to other halal Chinese restaurants in the area. If we lived in the area, we would eat here often.

We've been here 3 times to date, and could definitely go back every week! We've tried a variety of dishes, dine-in and carryout, and all experiences have been excellent. The place is clean, professional, and have I mentioned tasty yet? My favorite is the dry spicy chicken dish.

Ok I have completed research on this. Bottom line the meat is NOT halal. The owner claims that meat is from Restaurant Depot. Even if we agree to this the meat from Restaurant Depot is NOT halal. The best research for restaurant depot I have found is at the link below by a Mufti and Allah knows best http://masjidalislam.wordpress.com/2010/10/18/meat-sold-restarant-depot/ I would encourage the restaurant owner to PLEASE stop getting meat from Restaurant Depot and instead get it from a well know zabiha meat market. We would love to dine in at a Chinese Zabiha restaurant.`

*** I called Hakka Wok to find out if there meat they serve is Zabihah Halal and they said "yes the chicken and beef is" when i asked who there supplier is..she stated "City Foods". When I called and spoke to the owner of City Food (Schaumburg) he stated that they do not supply meat to this resteraunt and that they only took it one time from them. There meat is supplied from "Resteraunt Depot" per the owner of City Foods. ** The meat is not Zabihah Halal** You may confirm the informaton by calling City Foods (847 490 8877).

All the food is a bit on the saucy side, some of the items are average and some are good, probably based on personal preference, but nothing tastes awful. Its better than the other indo-chinese place nearly whose halal authenticity has been suspect to me. Nice cozy place with good atmosphere and reasonable service.

Small place - filled most of the time; food is expensive and taste is not good nas well - basically they are popolar because of the only desi touch chinese and about the halal verification, I am not sure. They say so but no one working there was a Muslim and the owner is not Musliom as well - so it is just verbal assurance form them - I won't go there - will drive little bit more to Usmania Chinese at Devon

Overall I would say this restaurant is not a good choice. I've ordered take-out from them twice and both times they forgot my extra rice. Also, I ordered the Mongolian Beef and it came 1/2 full which is simply unacceptable. The food quality was good, and it tasted very good as well. I would say it's over-priced for the quantity, quality, and service combined, but not terribly. If the restaurant improves these, there is a lot of potential considering the taste of the food.

The food is amazing! The chicken pakoras and the special dipping sauce are great! We all love that sauce so much, we would order it by the gallon! We definitely trust that the food is halal as we have spoken to the owner and he has told us where he buys the meat from. He is working on getting something from his meat provider to put on display. He also welcomed our suggestion of adding the fact the the food is halal on his website.

We went here for dinner and though the service was good, the food was horrible. Ordered chili chicken and manchurian beef, both were almost inedible. Very dissappointed as they advertised that its owned by the manager and cook of Hot Wok Village. It didn't taste anything like their food did.

I called to make a reservation last week for a party of 8, and thankfully I had done so- this is a small, yet cozy restaurant located in a Schaumburg strip mall which gets packed very quickly at dinner time. The staff was very attentive, answered questions and their recommendations were on the mark. Being the first time at this restaurant, we tried a wide variety of dishes - all of which were par excellence. Degree of spice adjusted to your preference. Questioned and assured that all items were halal at multiple times during reservation and dining. Very accomodating to children. Reasonably priced. Undoubtedly a true gem in Chicago.
