About Tuk Din

Tuk Din opened their new opening restaurant in July 2009 at 41 Craven Road. A great restaurant setting, supported with a nice location, a very much short walking distance to Paddington Station, and easy walking from MSD too. Tuk Din is well known as one of the great chefs by Malaysian community here in UK generally, and London especially.

Authentic Malaysian cuisines. Flavourful. Do not compare the price you would pay back at home or it will drive you crazy. Due to the rarity of the ingredients to create such authentic dishes, such prices are to be expected. Taste wise, its fantastic. Owner is Malay Muslim from Malaysia so its Halal. Highly recommended if you miss kampong dishes.

Went for lunch at Tuk Din. As a Johorean and asam pedas lover, I think Tuk Din's asam pedas was superb. The sourness was perfect. Tuk Din and wife entertained me personally and it felt like home. Topnotch hospitality. Loved the masak lemak daging salai too. The potions were quite generous and tasted original. Insyallah will come again on my next trip in October. Highly recommended. Take your friends, family and business associates there.

I liked the food a lot, but it was a little cold. Still, very tasty, and priced extremely well. I'd come here again for sure.

I went to Tuk Din with my wife and a colleague about two weeks ago while passing through London. Excellent food, large portions, helpful and friendly staff. I recommend this place very highly and inshaallah will visit again next time I am in London.

Beyond excellent! We ate here twice in six days while we visited London. The chicken satay appetizer with the peanut sauce was really delicious. We ordered a few dishes, our favourites being the fish with a Malaysian sweet and sour sauce and the garlic fried chicken. The rose syrup with lime drink is a refreshing cold beverage that we would recommend trying. Service is wonderful as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Tuk Din. Although we went on a Monday evening, the restaurant was full, with a large percentage of Malaysians. The restaurant has a cosy feel about it and the staff are more than welcoming. The service was fantastic and the food was even beyond my own expectation. Not only was it presented immaculately, but the flavours were sublime. I opted for the Mee Goreng and asked for the seafood to be replaced with Chicken which they happily did for me. The Lychee drink was also a pleasant accompaniment. There was however a downside to the evening in that i accidently rubbed some red chilli into my eye which resulted in a very uncomfortable 10 minutes...but this was entirely down to my own carelessness. Restaurants such as Tuk Din are a gem, and it is a blessing that they do not allow alcohol into the restaurant. May Allah reward them for their services and allow you, the reader, to dine in this amazing place!

the restaurant was close to the hilton (down the street by the paddington station) that we were staying at. place was clean, ambient music was of the local malaysian tune, and the servers, chef and owner were very nice and friendly. we were a part of a 15 people group with reservations during lunch time. the staff were very acommodating and they had the food ready when we arrived. they even had a small section just for us in the rear of the dining area so that we could have our own little cosy spot. we did the booking one day prior. and most important... it was halal and no alcohol is sold at the premise. now for the menu: starters: chicken satay and curry puffs. main menu: nasi minyak, ayam masak merak, kari daging, daging masak kicap and acar. dessert: malaysian pancakes with ice cream. drinks: air sirap bandung. the food was awesome and tasted like it was something that actually came from malaysia itself. the food just came out as we were seating, so we did not really have any waiting time at all. some of the things that we had on the menu were specially ordered but i am sure that you can get them as long as you coordinated with the restaurant. i can definitely vouch for this place. i have been to most of the malaysian restaurants in london and a lot of them do not even have the required quality to be categorized as malaysian. but "tuk din" is among the few exceptions and without a doubt, the current leader for malaysian cuisine in london.

Went to Tukdin after hearing that it had the unique mix of no-alcohol being served and a real authentic malaysian experience...and wasn't disappointed. The food, service and hospitality was top notch. Head chef, Syed Fauzi, was on hand personally to recommend dishes and give his take on what their vision is... coudn't cook as he had a broken hand and was front of house. Satay starters and Karipaff (malaysian take on Samosas) were exquisite and for mains really liked the beef in soya. The noodle dish was very tasty too although can't remember. Banana fritters and ice cream topped it off. Definitely going back as soon as I can to try out the other items on the menu... highly recommended.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice already and plan to go back again! Food is very good and the service is top notch. Try the coconut pudding with black rice for dessert, it's absolutely delicious. Good to note also that the restaurant is very clean and a nice place to take your spouse for dinner. Mashallah, there is also a tiny prayer room downstairs.

Maasha-Allah. Nine of us ate there last night. Must say the food was nice and good friendly service. They were very busy. A good indicator of a restaurant is to see how many of the cuisines' own (i.e. Malays) turn up to eat. There were lots maasha-Allah. I don't usually eat Malay food, but the staff were on hand to help out. No Alcohol on the premises, may Allah reward them. Lots of non-Muslims also eat there, testament to the quality of their good food and service. One small personal request - For sake of Allah, get rid of the music (please) - I'm sure you will notice the uplift in your business. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed insha-Allah.

slms this place is unreal! 100% halal, no alcohol served and even has a prayer room! :) 15-20 of us checked this place out on a friday night. Was busy whcih was a good sign. They were very warm, accomodating and felt like a friendly fun homely atmosphere. Very good service and respectful. Superb ambience and clean setting. Now the food! Mashallah best SATAY ever! Reinvented! YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT! This is NOT frozen skewers that are deep fried and some "outta the bottle peanut" sauce - no no! here the chicken pieces are freshly blended with the ingredients and the the sauce is fresh - just amazing and never eaten anything like this elsewhere. the food is glorious and you can taste the love & care gone into it - the homely rich taste of the ingredients. the sirup bandung and sirup limao (rose water with either milk or lime) is a perfect compliement to any meal and the banana fritter has a light, airy batter and crispy! (not the rock hard stuff you get elsewhere) The beef in sweet soy sauce is sublime and more-ish. i dare you to only try one piece! Take your friends, family and anyone you love - a guaranteed tasty friends/family venue. ps I took the mrs the day after. she loved it! Other friends have already been four times- in the last week! Malaysia here we come...
