New Naan on Devon

We had the Frontier Chicken and Boti Chicken wraps. The naan was burnt and the chicken was under cooked. Service was slow. To top it all the bill for 2 X $5.99 wraps came to $15.64. I did not argue but I will definitely not return to this restaurant.

Was visiting Chicago and someone suggested to us to eat at this restaurant. I was hesitant to go to the famous Devon area because I'm not a big fan of going to an Indo-Pak restaurant to eat - because I get that same type of food at home and at social gatherings. Anyway we decided to go because it was recommended. I'll just say one thing about this place, if you want that perfect experience of what a "hotel" restaurant is like in the middle of a bustling city in India - in this case Hyderabad - this is the place to go. It was already a warm day and when you walk in, there is no AC, just a couple of blowing fans so its pretty humid and sticky inside. No formal tables, just long tables, the cashier in the back, a paan stand in the front and the famous Hyderabadi Urdu is heard everywhere. Right away, this place reminded me of true India in the city of Chicago. That was the beauty of this place. This restaurant represented India, not one of those Taj Hotel like settings where only Bollywood stars go out to dine. We went there for lunch and we found that there wasn't a lot of options however. Just fried tandoori chicken, baghara chawwal and a couple of salans. Even though there wasn't a lot of options, the food was amazing. Really tasty and because its a buffet, you can eat as much as you want. The server did surprise us by handing out small plates of a lamb dish too which I found kind of spicy, but very good. It was mainly a hangout for guys and everyone was relaxed and just enjoying themselves. There were 3 of us in our party and it costed us just $31 total for food and drinks so not bad. Plus they also had kheer (rice pudding) for dessert, but it wasn't served cooled, as it was at room temperature. The place is also pretty clean and all the workers are extremely nice. Overall, if you want that true on-the-road Hyderabad India hotel experience, this is the place.

I ate at Naan on Devon on 26 October while visiting Chicago. This is the worst restaurant I have eaten for the reason below: 1. chicken was still raw, not cooked well. 2. Plastic glasses were so dirty that we didn't drink water in them. 3. The plates we were given were still wet, I guess the owners and managers of this restaurant have NO manners. 4. In the name of Biryani, they gave small plate with overflowing white rice which has two chicken botis. I have been eating biryani from childhood and I know how biryani looks like and tastes like. I am going to call the restaurant and talk to their owner and share my frustration. It was sad because I took some guests there and it was embarrassing.

I am Someone who lives at Devon , so you can be convinced that i would give the most genuine and unbiased review, i do not want say bad about anybody, i shall just mention the items that are good..! Awesome hydro food especially the chilli chicken but they give you small portions.

Good food, excellent chicken tandoori. Neat and clean. Prompt anf friendly service.
