They charge more than the marked price, you won\'t know it until after you\'ve paid. They won\'t issue refund, only come up with excuses. Their falooda was terrible, too sweet. local areas have better options. The tea quality has declined. It is probably 80% water, 15% condensed milk, and 5% actual tea. Sweets are mostly old or too sugary. Their bad taste of food does not bother me as much as their inconsistency in pricing, be very careful!

Best place for snacks and lunch! Everything we got was great from the menu. We got grilled chicken sandwich, bun kabob, chicken paratha roll, and chicken burger. Their falooda and mithai is really good. Highly recommend this place, even has namaz room downstairs.

Not the food we ate when we visited Chicago last year! The quality had gone done tremendously. This review is not to harm some Muslim business in any way but to give the management a wakening call. They should rearrange things so that this store regain the confidence of the customer once again!

Nice clean store, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The ONLY thing they have going for them is the TEA, which is also hit or miss depending on time of day. The rest, sad to say, is tasteless, textureless snacks. The Paratha roll has no Paratha, it is some kind of wrap that you can buy at a local supermarket. The pakoras are microwaved before giving to you. The Bun Kabab, is just some mushy paste filled with hot chutney in buns. The buns alone tasted better , without the alleged \"Kabab/chutney\" mixture. Had high expectations of this place, but sad to report it is average at best. Please focus more on the food than your PR.

This review is primarily for the falooda: not good at all. The falooda was warm, not cold. I'm not kidding. There was no kulfi in it. Tasted like they used cool whip. The air conditioning did not seem to be working. The restaurant was dirty too. Mithai was good. We didn't get anything else, so can't say, but thoroughly disappointed with the falooda.

Most of the sweets here are average. The Jalebi, I admit is very good. Premises are always clean and presentable and service has improved considerably, especially over the past year - it has gone from rude to almost exceptional.

I came in here and was amazed! First of all, very clean and nice inside. Renovated and looks like a high end location. Then the sweets... AWESOME! The Ras Malai was the best. I tried the Barfi (different types), and Golab Jamoon as well. Everyone liked what the got when I went.

I went with my cousin because she had never had faloodas before. They were great. So were the samosas. Her husband and kids fell in love with them, too.

Lot of variety to choose from and generally its good . But if you are here for Halwa Puri/ Samosa or some sweet items( like Barfi, pera, patees, rasmalai), try Pak Sweet across the steet because they have the best Halwa Puri and samosas, Period! But if you wana try other Snacks then Tahoora is the way to go.

This place is good for Sweet. Kalakand, habshi halwa is what we liked. Their kabobs are too spicy.

It's just perfect. The chaat is amazing and so are the menu selections. It's a great place to grab a quick bite when shopping in Devon.

they are ok. But their sweets and samosas are not like pak sweets (old place of tahora). Must try pak sweets

My Favorite Desi Dessert Spot In America! Best Kulfi And Mango Lassi Hands Down! The Texture Is So Smooth, And Just The Right Amount Of Sweet! I Have Only Tried The Original And Mango Kulfi, Both Were AMAZING! Will Try The Other Flavors On Another Trip! The Other Sweets Are Pretty Good Also! I have been their customer for 13 years now and they are the best in USA except dirty bathrooms and it's very disappointing as the owners are practicing Muslims and why can't they keep the bathrooms cleaned.

Excellent chai and Gajjar Ka Halwa. A colleague had the laddoo and he was head over heals in love with it!

I was in Chicago recent and on my way back decided to pick up some sweats from Tahoora, as expected the sweets were exceptionally good, bought pastries for family living local they was very good as well. I was very surprised and happy when I tried their chicken and beef paratha rolls, they are very good. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained, the service was quick, and I guess I cannot complaint on that. My only grip is the staff is not on par with the quality of food producer, I found them to be slightly arrogant, they are not polite, the customer feels like they are at the mercy of the server. And one last thing treat women with respect, I have seen how you treated some non-muslim females when I was waiting for my turn to be served.

one of the few upscale restaurants on Devon! we had their bun kebabs and cheese pizza. bun kebab was average in taste and it was cold but big in size. cheese pizza was excellent ! prices are fairly reasonable. Their tea is very famous a must try! we bought their popular papay, they are really light and yummy. tried their jalebi and lotsa mithae very delicious specifically the halwas. Restaurant was clean servers were helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

Over a month late for this review ... But still this place deserves one .. First of all a very good place for any family, great people, great dine in place, very well maintained and above all amazing Halwa Puri ... Must go place if you are in Chicago ... Highly recommended..

pretty awesome stuff they have here, truly enjoyed my self. Everything was well cooked, and I dont understand what some of the people on here are talking about. Maybe they just came at a bad day, fortunately for me, I came on a great day, so I was lucky. Would definitely return.

Great Halwa Puri! Service was nice and friendly, always checked on us to see if we needed anything. Anytime I come here I bring back a huge box of sweets for my family and friends. I always make it a point to come here when I am in town.

I'm a bit surprised by the negative reviews - as a lifelong Chicago resident, I can safely say that Tahoora is the gold-standard when it comes to mithai on Chicago. They have an amazing selection, rarely run out of anythiing, and their chai is commonly said to be the best. Desi and non-desi friends of mine always find something they like there. Most people eat the Indo-pak sweets there but a friend recently tried one of their European-style cakes and loved it. The atmosphere is also classic Devon with diverse customers, tons of seating for a large group, and a large prayer space in the basement if you need it.

Could somebody please MOP the floor from the night before! It really irritates me when there is food debri on the floor and I step in it. anyway... Wife and I made it to this place for Desi breakfast, for the price i think it was Alright, the Choley Recipe could definatly use a makeover and puri's were extremly greasy, out of the breakfast thali the aloo and halwa was quite tasty a little too sweet but good. Best thing about the entire experience was the Chai. that is what I returned for later at night after a meal at Usmania. I like the fact there is two size of chai which I really suggest to every restaurant to incorperate for us chai lovers. Please clean the washrooms better.

In urdu, it would be " Unchi dukan, phika pakwaan". Translated into english, it would be "big on size of shop, low on the quality and taste"....Disappointing!

Mr.Owner please change your staff especially there are this 2 guys who work as if they are doing favor serving customers.These guys r so rude and rough that you feel like as if they r the one who are paying customers. Last time I was there I almost felt like throwing sweets on his face . Given that there are all types of customers in a day but that's ur job ... Dealing with customers. Never pleasant faces.., sweets are meant for joyous occasions but after dealing with these guys you come out depressed.

One word: Overrated

Love the atmosphere it almost reminds me of being in a restaurant in India. I've had the mithai which is pretty good, loads of choices and I've heard they are famous for their sweets. I will have to try the masala chai next time since they have a separate line just for that. Ps dont try the pizza, even the homeless guy I gave it to didnt seem to enjoy it.

Nice clean place. The thali plate & puri are great! Nice selection of mithai also. However, the tandoori pizza was disgusting. Reminiscent of the weird tasting soggy pizza from India. Stick with the what they do best.

Went to gets some sweets from the place when we visited based on recommendations. The sweets were really good and my family enjoyed them. The price was not bad either. We would go again when we visit. None of us tried the tea so I can't comment on that. The place is clean and has lots of tables to sit down at.

I dont know WHY Tahoora is so famous! I read gr8 things about it here, and heard abt it so much before goin to Chicago and even from people on devon......Man, whats wrong with all u people?!?!?! OR may b their quality has gone down tremendously from what it was b4. Their mithai was below average. I had heard that their Chai is the best on devon....believe me I could not take 2nd sip of it....i had to trash it....SO thick and weird tasting.....and oh ye, their so-called samosas should be called "warhha pao" cuz it was just round fat "aata" with "aaloo" in it. Tahoora has excellent weekend breakfast at great price, their sweets are great, also some other side items are awesome but I would limit myself to the above items. We tried some of their beef and chicken sandwiches and they were well below average. their beef sandwich is still a mystery to me, isntead of using beef patty they used something that looked more like spinach then beef.

Tahoora is like General Motors. Oonchi Dukan, Pheka Pakwan. Order some mithai and Nimko via online store considering that it is going to be freshly made stuff. But was shocked to find out that majority of Nimko was imported from Bombay. It was old and stale. Selection of Mithai in a 2 lbs box was extreemly idiotic, it was full of 2 lbs of various type of barfis. Jalebi was the only thing which was any good. I guess these guys are too busy to look back in their own order system. Obviously there is NO accountability. They did not send some items since they were out of them (next import shipment has not yet arrived, I guess). But still went ahead and charged me for that. You can't be too busy to agnore such things. This total ignorance. Am I going to go there or order online again? Heck NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Anyone who knows Devon street, knows Tahoora. After going there for so many years and being such a loyal customer, I have noticed that the quality of their samosa and papri chaat is very inconsistant, once salt was too much and the other time it was too bland. They have nice variety of snacks and sweets. I have ordered methai on-line on the birth of both my kids, it reached ontime, fresh and packed in very fancy and nice boxes. I think it is a very good option.

A visit after jumma namaaz at the mosque around the corner I was not disspointed. Good food, plenty of seating, got a bit confused with the 'q' system but that is a minor thing. Great place.

I left Chicago four months ago, and I miss Tahoora sooooo much! They have the BEST bakhlava, and I LOVE their chai! Yeah, it's a teeny tiny cup, but it's STRONG! I had the chicken paratha once. Yummmm! I love their samosas, pakoras, everything! And the staff is very nice as well, mashAllah!

We had a chicken roll and tea. The tea small at $ 1.00 was good and fresh. The chicken roll at $0.50pathetic...I was having a hard time finding the chicken in a chicken roll. Otherwise, the place is clean and affordable.

The good and deserts are great. Also, the place is Clean which is very unlikely of most Paki-Indian restaurants. The only thing is the attitude the workers have.. they rush you and act as if they could care less if you are there or not. I love supporting Muslim owned businesses but I want them to appreciate me as a customer too. I hope they take this advice and improve on customer service.

Great mithai & halwa puri, other namkeen stuff is good too, the part I liked best is they have arrangement for prayers with proper masjid downstairs.

Excellent Poori Halwa and Sweets and EXTREMELY HYGIENE too. Again a MUST SEE and a place where you can comfortably take your family too.

The customer Service is extremely poor. The attitude of staff gives the impression that they think they are the only game in town. When complained about long lines and only 2 counters open, here is the exact response" Janaab line to lag hi rehti hai yahan par" meaning this is Tahoora - take it or leave it. Not going there any time soon. NOthing is worth this kind of attitude

tahoora 's send sweets to bombay is a service you want to stay away from.i orderd sweets to be sent to bombay on thursday and the lady taking my order on phone took 18 mins(i was on my cell phone) to complete it after numerous interruptions and promised to send me the invoice immediately.i didnt get the invoice till sat afternoon and upon calling and inquiring she gave me dumb excuses like its not her fault that she could not email me the invoice!and when askd how much longer will it take the bombay tahoora to actually deliver the sweets in a suburb(andheri,which is a max of 2 hrs away from where tahoora is) the lady says to me that it 'll take some more time coz bombay people have not responded to her yet.and that i should also take in to consideration the amount of traffic and rush in bombay! i am from bombay and used to travel to the area where tahoora is so these excuses are totally unprofessional and really really stupid. needless to say, when i lost it and cancelled my order the lady asks me why i am cancelling and i cant be cancelling it! i 've orderd stuff to be sent to india many times but never faced this kind of situation.i ended up sending sweets to bombay from another site and they delivered them right away the next day.i could sent the sweets in time through tahoora and had to face such an attitude too.tahoora is not living up to its name.

We often come to Chicago from East Coast. Once again we were pleased with the new Tahoora, its warqi samosas and the Ras Malai. Qalaqand was very good.

My wife and I used to love this place. But since they moved to their new location, their quality has degraded badly. Their sweets taste like sugar only and their snacks are not that great. We only liked their Ras Malai, but even that used to be better.

Unfortunately did not try any of the sweets, but did try a pizza, samosas and some chai. Was a little disappointed in the skimpiness of the meat in both the samosas as well as the chicken pizza. The chai was also burned and did not taste that good. On the bright side, the place was very clean and did not look like a typical desi place. Will have to come back and try some of the sweets next time I'm in Chicago.

I don't see what's so great about this place. The sweets are delicious but you can find similar tasting sweets on other places on Devon. Other than that nothing else is that great. They have lots of room to eat. Parking is a nightmare though.

Tahoora's halwa poori breakfast is best but they have increased the rates.

I think Tahoora's mithai is one of the best in chicagoland, especially their chum chum and gulab jamun

The sweets and snacks have down graded. But they all so have a Banquet Hall on the top. Did a party their, everything went well and the food was excellent. You gotto contact a guy named Hanif. He gives the best deal. don't talk to anyone else, even the owner. Four stars are for the Banquet Hall. Not the Sweets and snack part

Very good sweets and cheap. I tried their Halal pizza and that is also very good. Somosa chat was excellent but their dhai baray disappoint us.

This place has the best mithai. It is very clean - unlike the average desi restaurant. This place has food, snacks and sweets. When you walk in, it looks like an elegant bakery with bright display lights, gold fixtures and marble floors. VERY CLEAN! The sweets are the best I've had anywhere. You can even go online and place your order. They deliver to USA and Canada.

this place is clean, organized (as much organization as you can expect from the desi crowd) and EXCELLENT food - they have halwa puri and stuff for brunch on weekends. it runs out fast - fresh juices, sweets...just a vast variety of food. also, they have in the recent past moved into a nice large location. it's a place you MUST go to if in and around the windy city. just beware of the fakirs (yes, beggars) that have propped up around devon, some even posing as muslimah's when in fact they are not. they tend to target the tahoora crowd.

I was so surprised to find that this place was clean! Usually devon restaurants have a little old world charm in them but this place looks bright, fresh, new and very clean. The service is slow, but hey, if i can breathe in clean air and sit in a clean chair on devon, i can wait a little. They have new items like smoothies and drinks, but i still go there for the sweets. Rasmuli is still great there, and gulab jamun is very good too. I'm not crazy over their samosas though. Definitely would go there again.

Assalam-u-Alaikum: The place is clean. I order to pack Tahoora sweets while I was on my way home.

Their samosas are awesome. Same applies for the sweets. Stay away from the burgers though. Other than that, all else is pretty decent. Their sunday breakfast special is one good value.

Their bun kabobs are pretty good. The chicken pizza is ok, nothing to complement. Their halwa puri on weekend is good. Their chicken rolls and samosas are ok also. Ask for their pudina chutney its tasty and spicy. You can even have it with their bland pizza.

halwa puri on weekend excellent. Sweets best in city. Service-you may die of old age before you get any of your order, especially the halwa puri. Call ahead 2-3 hours and it might be ready by the time you arrive. The new location should be nice, plenty of room to be seen!

Tahoora is becoming more of a dating joint. The service is slow and I don't like the new machine made Samosa.

Great halva/ puri, samosas, lassi, mithai, and all snacks. I alwayz go to Tahoora whenevr i visit Chicago. We always pack some sweets for the way back to Grand Rapids. And we r totally crazy abt Tahoora/ CHICAO.

Tahoora's always been the best place in Chicago for sweets, and both the quality and service is decent ... Who cares about the decor, or how friendly the servers are. Don't you go to a sweets shop to eat delicious sweets? All that matters is how clean and tasty it is, and Tahoora's great in both areas. Other sweets shops may try to add bad reviews to make their business successful but Tahoora is still the best. (Btw, guys, that's bad business, what happened to ethics and religion?!)

I like Tahoora, but everything is really greasy. They need to tone it down with the oil or ghee or whatever they use. But I still go there!

It's like a fish market there all the time. Their quality sucks and I hate the Samosa style.

For the person who said that the owner is not muslim. He is, in fact he is an alim and hafiz. Make dua for the muslim brother, instead of lying about him and his buisness.

Excellent Beef Samosas! It is the best place in chicago for bun kabob, samosas and sweets.

This is one of the cleanest establishments I have ever seen. The sweets are pretty good and now they serve burgers too which are also pretty good. This is a nice place to relax with some buddies and eat some good food at the same time.

The beef burgers and chicken burgers are really tasty but i don't know how they prepare it. The meat patty is always flat like a elephant sat on it. Chick pizza very very good, little expensive, but worth it.

I am a regular at Tahoora and it is my opinion thatit is simply THE best place in chicago for sweets. No matter how hard you try you won't be able to find a place that makes better sweets than tahoora. Also, im glad they added a dining area; its more convenient. Tahoora is once place i will not ever give up!

Tahoora used to be fantastic for sweets and snacks when it first opened, now its more of a "see and be seen" place, with halwa puri on weekends being quite ok - the halwa is soaked in oil though, as are the puris, but they're still better than what you get on other places in Devon. The place is usually cramped. For the freshed foods, have a party catered, then you'll get fresh sweets. Sweets are pretty ok, avaoid the dahi wada - I had it once and it was full of fungus!
