About Ceylonta

At Ceylonta our food provides a sampling of this rich variety of using spices and mixtures imported from Sri Lanka. You can taste the aromatic hot red peppers, tamarind, garlic and ginger, enjoy the delicate aromas of cardamom, curry leaves, fenugreek, turmeric and bite into the tiny black mustard seeds. Sri Lankan cuisine is distinguished from that of the neighbouring countries because the spices are fast roasted before they are ground and added to the food, to bring out nuances of flavour in a unique and pleasant way. Our main dishes are steamed and we pay particular attention to lowering the fat content in our food. We offer a full vegetarian cuisine and the meat dishes are halal.

A group of us went there today for dinner, and i have to say: -Atmosphere: was nice and cosy. -Service: was not so good, when we asked the waiter a question he was a bit rude to us. -Food: we ordered the roast beef, chicken buryani, & masala dossai & mango lassi to drink. The roast beef side was good, the chicken buryani was average, dossai was below average...and mango lassi kept burning our throats while we drank it. It was a bit too sweet maybe thats why. I decided to pick this place to eat because my friend told me it was really good, but I have to disagree. It's alright, not a favorite for sure. As for the would I return maybe..but I don't think so.

Spicy. They do serve alcohol but have good takeout. Their Kothu Rotti, String Hoppers and coconut Sambol is good. I don't like the taste of Dosai. I think it's a personal preference on that one though. This is a spicy cuisine so you must like spice to try.
