Mezban is hands down the best Indian/pakistani buffet in Houston since new management took over. We have been coming here almost every weekend for the past year and the quality and customer service has been top notch every time. Dishes taste close to home cooked food, and there\'s a good variety. We haven\'t had a bad dish yet. Only the dessert station is lacking sometimes. We prefer to see one or two authentic dessert and fresh fruit rather than several mediocre items. The garlic chicken roll is great...the paratha is flaky and the chicken very tender. Their tea \"chai\" is amazing...very authentic. The new management and staff listen to customer feedback and implement changes as needed. Overall, Mezban is a rising star and should be on your must visit place for desi cuisine!
We were visiting from Miami Florida , service was good except when getting naan , for which we had to wait longer than normal , we had buffet which had good items , i had nihari , haleem , frontier chicken and tea , they all tasted good except naan which were straight from tandoor but hard and burnt in middle , they can work on it , i noticed four people working in Kitchen but they didnt seems to react on orders and were busy talking to eachother. Girl in Black was the only one working and serving customers , she was running around trying to serve and doing a great job , i would give 5 stars as food was great and that was our purpose.
Really good Pakistani food! Excellent service!
we went there for the Iftaar, and it was really good. Quite a few items for iftaar and for a weekday, this place was crowded.
Good Lunch buffet for the price. Fills you up. They are a little slow refilling the items when they run out though. Best Kheer (rice pudding) in Houston.
Been there for weekend brunch few times. Had a good experience. Everything taste good except Biryani. Biryani sucks on the brunch menu; pretty much at all the desi restaurants. Price is reasonable. Chai should be free!
We have stopped going there. 1. Crapy crapy service 2. The manager is on the phone talking and starring at you and your food. 3. The food is cold and nasty 4. There is no sense of customer service. 5. They are also not honest. Dont honor any advertised promotions Don't go there you have plenty of options around in the area.
The manager is very unprofessional and does not have maaners. We went to Mezban last Ramadan 10 min before iftar and the he told us that all seats are reserved, there were hardly anyone there and he could have accomodated 3 people for iftar. We went there again and few weeks later at lunch, he told us that we can not order from the menu, must go for the buffet (weird). Last one, I went to pay for my to-go orders and he kept me waiting for 10min. while he was on the phone (no apology). As they say, 3 strikes and you are out. We are not going back there again. We used to go there a lot.
Rude and careless Management: I was been to this place last night at 9:40PM (they close at 10PM) and preferred to go for buffet. We hardly had started, at 9:48PM the waiter came to us and informed that we will be closing at 10PM and without any courtesy he started removing the dishes immediately. When I saw this, I decided to talk to management and he turned out be big time liar, rude, and unprofessional saying that we already informed you that we closes at 10PM (he never told us). Even if they close at 10PM, why the hell you need to stop serving at 9:50PM? And is this the way they treat the customer? I want to inform this incident to everybody so that people should not be in embarrassing situation!.
Food is pretty good here, however, the Goat Biryani they use on the buffet is usually left over from the days before and the meat tastes like it is going bad. It still tastes good though. I prefer this place for a lunch buffet over others in the area. Their catering for weddings can really be a hit or miss.
I thought the food was pretty good. I came here for a party once, but the hall is super small.
I went for iftar. It was extremely busy and I found a place to sit with great difficulty. The buffet featured the usual items, though all the various meat dishes were chicken dishes. Naan was cold, probably 30 minutes old and somewhat tough. There were pakore, but no samoze. Food was of average quality, nothing to write home about.
In last two years I have probably eaten their more that 10 times. I finally stopped going there because their quality of food is very inconsistent. Sometime it is absolutely amazing and other times it is below average. They really need to get their act together.
Lunch Buffet was very good. Food was certainly of above avearge taste. Will certainly return for more!
place not bad, service moderate, food not bad, but need more variety. No Samosas, butter chicken and some other items in Buffet.
The food is all right. The waiters are very slow to bring naan, and only want to bring 1 piece at a time. I did not like the time that we had there because there was a party of some kind going on in the next room and the music was so loud that I was not able to think straight. It made me feel very uncomfortable.
Probably the best Pakistani buffet in SW houston, but also the most expensive, for about $12 a head. I suggest improving the decor a bit to make it look less tacky.
Have not been to the restaurant but was at a Valima where the food was catered by Mezban and it was pretty good. Had Mutton Biriyani, chicken kofta, grilled pieces of beef and chicken. All were good. For dessert had Shahi Tukra which was excellent.
I have been to this place few times and my overall experience has been very good. The quality of food is excellent and environment is consistant with the prices. The display could be improved.
I had a good experience eating there, nice and friendly staff. Taste was also good, prices are normal.
We went for the dinner buffet. The food was quite good esp the Haleem. They however made a fuss about splitting the bill on multiple credit cards
Went for the "Free" Iftaar for Ramadan. WHAT FREE IFTAAR? They REQUIRE you to pay for buffet and put some iftaar items on there. Spent 60 bucks for dinner food that people hardly ate and was Mediocre. I'd give this place a 2.5 but not a choice. Better to try Sabri if they still do Free Iftaar....they do give iftaar and then your choice to buy how much and what food for dinner afterwards..... MEZBAN NOT WORTH IT this way... THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO SPEND YOUR MONEY IN RAMADAN.
I got my stomach upset after eating there. Not sure what caused it. We ordered pasinda and BBQ platter. The glasses in which drinks were served smelled of pinesol. The customer service is good though. Would not go back.
....Food is better than most places in Houston actually really good... but as expected the customer service is lousy... I would still go out there for the food....
I went there last night after reading the 5star reviews, expecting a 5 star experience. My family had to wait 5 minutes to be told we were to find our own seat. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our order. A woman who barely spoke english came to take our order. Every time we named an item on the menu, we were told it was finished, sorry. I then asked well what do you have? After going beck and forth for another 10 minutes. She said wait and called a man who told us the few things they did have. (We went 7pm on Fri nt- they close at 10pm) Since we were there, we just ordered what they had. We were told it would be ready in 15 minutes,(since we had already wasted time and it was nearly maghrib).Instead it took over 30 minutes. We ordered goat biryani (which turned out to be hard rice with dry cubes of meat). No raita. I guess you have to think to order that and pay extra for it, too. Also, Chicken tikka which was far from juicy and succulent(lots of char on it), 2 naans, chicken pasanda, palak paneer, seekh kabob, samosas(beef and chicken),and 4 mango shakes. My children couldn't handle the spices (and they eat regular spices). We weren't even for- warned by the staff of the spices. (My little ones are 3 and 4). So we paid 88 dollars for 2 adults to have a less than 5 star experience. So for all you out there, maybe your luck will be better than mine. Wish you the best! I know I don't plan on ever going back to waste my money there.
went here for the first time. places is neat and clean. food was great. charga, qeema parhatas were really good
I was in Houston attending a wedding this past december, the food was catered from Mezban & it was AWESOME !
