My personal favorite for cart food in this area. The onions are too strong though - I always ask for them to not be included.

I used to go to this cart a lot a few years ago but recently I have tried it again and I have to say its the worst cart in NY. The quality has gown very downhill. Their portions are smaller especially their portion of meat. The food does not taste like anything anymore

There are plenty of better options in street vendor foods than this halal cart. The food is covered with unnecessary peppers and onions, not too mention the unsanitary conditions it is prepared in. I understand that sanitary food preparation is not something one should expect when getting food from a street vendor-but finding rocks and grainy pebbles is unacceptable, even for a street vendor.

Gyro sandwich and gyro platter are really good. Get it with extra white sauce. And if you can hang, get extra red sauce, which is extremely hot...even for desis. This cart is sometimes located on 73rd and Broadway and sometimes on 73rd and Roosevelt.

Sammy's used to be a good alternative to GodFather ( 53rd and 6th) but lately their Quality and Quantity of food has gone down. Hopefully they will read this and fix that.

Sammy's used to be really good, but they've gone cheap. They raised the prices and made the portions smaller. This has turned a lot of their regulars off.

Across from Kabab King Diner. Winner of 2006 Vendy Award. Great Gyro platter or sandwich - lamb/beef or chicken. Very well seasoned. Don't forget the sauce - white, hot, and green, they're all good. You'll keep coming back for more. They open 'til 4am, and depending on when you visit, you might have to wait in line - another testament of great food. Light on your wallet as well.
