Excellent food and good service. Casual place but tasty food.

Terrible experience. Karahi tasted 2 days old, samosas were microwaved, plain naan was old and ordered chicken which didn't come because they had to make it fresh. They also didn't have any Chinese food and all other Salan was just oil. I would not recommend it. We used to love this place years ago but this visit was terrible.

You will be greatly disappointed, because the food tastes below average and is far from a Pakistani style taste. It felt like they just prepare entrees through recipes on the back of packeted masalas. Absolutely zero sense toward achieving an authentic taste for any BBQ item. As far as the restaurant is concerned, it has a weird vibe and is far from a nice dining experience. The bottom floor is like a fast food joint and the top floor is a dimly lit sitting area, where I don\'t want to take my family again We ordered Haleem, and it was served in a soup bowl (small quantities) and it didn\'t taste like haleem at all. In short, the food was below average and the restaurant itself was no where close to a nice dining experience.

The food was good, the portions were somewhat small when compared to Chicago standards (Usmania, Serena, etc) but the prices weren't all that bad. The Nihari and the Chicken boti was good. We ordered Chinese as well however, that took a very long time, it came when we were done with our food. We went there on a Tuesday late afternoon, and the restaurant had quite a bit of room on the 2nd floor.

Salam, We been to this place couple of times with family. Food taste good but quality is going down lately. Every time we went there place is crowded on both sides of the second floor. Sometime we had to wait for available tables. Takes a while for order to arrive. Good for big families eating together when not crowded.

Been going there for ages. Sometimes the food is great but other times I don't know what happens. Great chai!

The kababs are always a hit and have been so for over a decade without fail, rest is mostly a miss. If you want you kababs catered, this is IT. I always take a dozen for my freezer. I would skip everything else given the choice in the neighborhood. If I were to rate this only for kababs then I would give it a 5. Recently the DOH (dept of health) NY city shut it down right after Eid. I heard it has opened up again.

Went here for Sehri with friends but the food they brought out was extremely disappointing and was swimming in grease. The quality of the food has dropped drastically in the last couple of years as well as the service, which was bad to begin with. Will avoid at all cost in the future.

This is our go to place for kabobs. Everything else is a hit or miss. Nothing spectacular. Sometimes the biryani is good.

I loved this restaurant when I visited it in 2005 - 09, on my recent visit, in March 2013, lord everything went downhill, every single dish we tried have red chili powder dumped in it, either the guys who cooks smokes and killed all his taste buds or Jackson heights folks started eating extremely spicy food. Haleem, chicken and beef shih kabab, chicken tickka masala, hot like hell, you can't taste anything but hot, the naan dry, felt like eating Doritos. Tables and chairs old sticky brown. I was a fan of this place for years, now heart broken.

I once had a bug in my butter chicken. Also, the service is lousy and the men behind the counter are rude.

Went here a month ago with a friend late at night. I used to come here often but this particular experience was not very good. Food took forever and when we got the food it was very cold even colder than room temperature.

I notice that they are not very courteous with non-desi patrons. We witnessed that the owner/ manager moved the food plates and belonging of an older Caucasian patron to another table (when the guy went to the bathroom) so that the owner/or manager could use that table and chat with friends sitting at the next table. The non-desi patron noticed this but he didn't saying anything until the owner/manager became haughty over an argument. The owner was upset that the patron didn't tip. Hmm, I wonder why they guy didn't tip? Smh. Anyway, as desis, we didn't receive great service either. We had to keep asking them 2-3 times for lemon and ginger for the haleem and nihari. Their kababs are fantastic (especially bihari and boti kabab) but they are stingy with the raita. They are only "kings" of the kabab. The rest of the fare is just average. Overall, sit down service leaves much to be desired and most of the food is just average. We only get the kababs and do take out now.

Enjoyed the food during my last trip. Typical indo/pak fare. Service was decent.

I wouldn't know about the quality of the food, but I know the service leaves a lot to be desired. I went in for take out and stood under the sign that says "order here." There was no one in front of me at all but I stood there for a few minutes wondering why I wasn't being helped. I thought maybe they're busy, maybe they don't see me. However after waiting for a few minutes some Desi men came in and they were helped immediately. I was completely ignored. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not Desi or because I'm a woman who was alone. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and I don't plan on ever coming back here. I would tell everyone to steer clear of this place and go somewhere that appreciates their customers.

I had some take out a number of years ago and it was ok- nothing special. Dined in about 4-5 years ago with a friend and it was not a good experience. The food was poor and the service was even worse. I left wondering if we were treated like that because my friend was the only black person dining in a place packed full of South Asians!

I'm not saying any of the below ratings are false--they might be valid. However, I must rate this restaurant based on my dining experience. I found the entire experience to be above average. I have been there several times in the past five years, but this time it was better than ever. We had all of the tandoori items, tikka, seekh, lamb, bihari, naans, etc. We also ordered the chicken tikka masala and a veggie dish. We were all satisfied. The only thing I wished was different was the chicken tikka. I wish the tandoori chicken tikka was chicken breast as opposed to dark meat. Nonetheless, it was tasty. However, the most impressive part of our entire experience was the service--YES, Everyone, I just said the service at Kabab King was real good! I have never experienced excellent service like that before at Kabab King. I hope it's the rule more than an exception. Our drinks were immediately refilled, food came out fast, and just about anything we asked for was given to us almost immediately. I asked my friend who goes there a few times a week and he said the service is good and they have really improved over the months. If you're in NYC, I would say it is a must to try Kabab King.

Kebabs are good, overall everything else is below average. It was closed down for hygiene, which is why i stopped going. If you rather eat food with bad service and bad hygiene, then be my guest.

I went to this place a few years back, and it was good. I went this past weekend, and I was disappointed. Despite having been absolutely exhausted from a day out in NYC, and starving, the food was not something I would reccommend. I question the cleanliness of the location. If the food is extraordinary, one can usually overlook the cleanliness factor. Somtimes the best food is found in hole in the wall locations. However, this particular location had nothing worthwhile to offer. For all the advertising they do, they don't seem to live up the the self proclaimed hype.

This place deserves a negative rating! I used to love this place when it first opened up, but I haven't been there since I got food poisoning after eating bihari kabob. I know a family that also had the same thing happen to them because of Salmonella in the meat. Great place to eat if you want to miss work and build a nice hospital bill. Don't fall for the lame commercial!

Don't be influenced by the brainwashing ' King King Kabab King' commercial. The food is just plain ordinary nothing special.

Kabob King. Only order the Grilled food and you will NOT be disappointed. Eveyrthing else is sub-par. But the Bahari Kabob, Chicken Tandoori, Beef/Chicken Kabob with Fresh Naan. Is the stuff that makes Kabob King what it is. THe place is a hole in the wall and the service isn't five star. But if you order the right food this place is one of the best in JH.

Their "King King Kabab King" made us to visit this place on an Eid day and it so far is the worst Eid food we ever had. The hall is huge but the food is not even average. You have to guess what you are served. The restaurant is not clean, the service is not very friendly. A typical desi establishment.

Good and quick service but food a little too spicy for us and the naans were cold, not fresh - had to ask. Overall, it was good.

I was disappointed with the outlook . It was definitely not the restaurant they show in their add. I don't know why they think that being a desi restaurant, its ok to be dirty. If it would have been in Northern Virginia, Health department would have closed them. We were dining upstairs with my family. One of the waiter was mixing the raita in a big bucket on the floor. after mixing he put the mixer on the floor, on a newspaper which rolled over and touched the floor. After a minute he took the mixer and started mixing again with the same mixer.Any way their food is not bad. They need better presentation, more frequent cleaning and staff training.

Kabob King is the best thing that happended to NYC. Their food is awesome. FRESH food. Their service can be bad sometimes(waiters being rude) but their food is always good. You can't find food any fresher than Kabob Kings. My whole family loves kabob king. When we visit Jackson Heights, we always go here. Great food in the heart of Jackson Heights.

I see their commercials on TV all the times and I was in NYC for a business trip and decided to go there. I was very disappointed in their service. The waiter who seated me and the waiter who took my order probably have never heard of soap and deodorant. They smelled awful and I felt like walking out but since I was so hungry I decided to place an order. Food is an average and was cold. Asked them to warm it up and got the look like from them like I was crazy to ask what I asked. So they did not warm it up and I paid my check and walked out. Will never ever return to this place. It would have been closed down by health department for poor hygiene reasons if it were in Northern California.

Recently closed down due to hygiene reason by the Food and Health department. Excellent kababs. The sole reason I would come back to visit Queens!

I've been here a bunch of times. The only thing that's really worth it is the kabab and naan.that's really it....They're food doesn't really have that authentic taste to it. I prefer Kabab & Grill. it has exactly what every desi restaurant lacks these days. Kabab King's service is ok as well. One time they messed up on my order and refused to fix it. but they're buffet is cool. It's just not authentic desi food.

I've been eating at Kabob King since they opened up and I was a teenager at that time, I think since about mid 90's. After all these years, all I can say is, if you are not sure where to take your family, take them to this place. Although the quality of their food has gone down since the beginning, you cannot beat their kabobs at their prices. If you dont believe me, try their Lamb Chops, at about 8 dollars an order, your not going to find it anywhere else. I think they have failed miserably on chinese and don't bother ordering chinese from there. But again, Kabob king is still the king in cheap but yet tasty kabobs.

Food is okay not that great as some reviews suggest. Prices are fair, service is ehhh. it's always extremely busy there. Food for catering from KK is not always the best either, sometimes it's good, sometime's it's bad.

Was sick of watching their adds on TV so I had to try them out when I visited NY during 4th. of Jul. weekend. They do have excellent chicken kababs and Bihari were not bad either but bring a fire extinguisher with you if you were not raised on raw chilli. Also tried them next day for breakfast and the poori chana was just average. Upstairs they have a huge place but the seating area lacks quality so I won't recommend if you want to go out with your entire family for a nice dinner. Better suited for take out. Gravy dishes are just OK. I will only try their BarBQ stuff.

Although the food is very tasty, there were roaches crawling in and out of the food on the counter (upstairs). The cutlery is also a bit dirty. If you don't mind a little cockroach in your food, be sure to try the behari kabob and beef kabobs.

IF you're in a hurry for some pick up go here, it's not that bad, not the best for a sit down dinner... there's a lot better queens has to offer.

This place is still a seasoned favorite of new york. I must attest that it use to be much better a few years back..possibly the cook changed? they continually have a lack of menu items despite an extensive menu. still very reasonably priced.. they have added that upstairs dining area which (for those of you who care) offers a proper dining area..the beef kabob roll and a cup of chai $2... great quick fix..still a good restuarant.. authentic flavor which has gotten a lil sloppy due to the amount of traffic

The food is mostly good with a pretty eloborate lunch buffet,always fresh food due to high through-put.Still our favorite are Ch-kebab & Fresh naans . Kheer is very good .canteen like atmosphere ,needs a big improvement . Still very competetively priced .Though a charcoal grill can be a big improvement .

This place was a big disappointment. I read the great reviews this place got and when I got there I was wondering if this was the same place. They have an extensive menu, but only a few items were available. So literally we made our choices only to be told most of what we wanted were not available. In fact, one thing I did order I found out was not available until an hour later. One very interesting psycholdelic thing they had was this display with stuffed pigeons and stuffed parrots a waterfall and red glittering apples hanging from them. It was like a shrine to their "psychodelic" menu.

The Kabob King Diner is by far the best retaurant i have been to. Their Gola kabobs and their nan and raita is SOOOO good. I would definitely recomend this restraunt. The service is great! I am very proud of KABOB KING!

Never went into the restaurant but my friend had his EID Dinner catered by them in Boston. The kababs were the best i've tasted. Spicy and truly authentic Pakistani in taste. Not for the timid pallet though.

Although not a place where you'd want to dine-in, it does have excellent, excellent food!

I have yet to taste better BBQ food than this in US.

Its no place to bring your family.Kabob is too spicy.

Allahuakbar. God himself has blessed this wondrous restaurant with his grace and Godliness. Although it is not very clean, it is amazing nonetheless.

If you simply want decent carry-out food then the Kabab King in Jackson Heights is ok. Howeve its no place to bring your family. They have recently opened a new place in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. Though this place is much bigger and also offers a catering hall neither the food is of a decent quality nor is the service. The parking lot is full of huge craters. The place is stuffy and badly organized. Carpets old and greasy, cutlery dirty, waiters - rude, The food - the least said the better.

Best in Kebobs. Pulao is also good. Other dishes are OK. Busy place.

No doubt the food is really good but i am not happy at all with KK's customer service. I live in NYC and have always eaten at KK for the last 3+ years. Last month i had them cater my wedding reception and they delivered food only about an hour and half late! Two dishes were not what i had ordered and agreed upon. All i can say is that they should concentrate more on making their customers happy and not just opening up more restaurants or taking catering orders that realistically they cant handle.

i went to toronto for a visit and desi halal scene sucks here so bad, that i surely missed kabab king alot. whenever we wanna have some real desi food, we head for KK. its always going to be no.1 in north america!

Some of the dishes here taste as if they were made by God himself.

I have to drive from Boston for a good desi food & after trying some ,KKis the best. Naans,Kababs,Ch-Tikka's,Mutton tava-Qeema to be very good.Biryani is pretty good too .

I really enjoyed the kabobs and the Halal Chinese was delicious too. I think what was so extraordinary about that was that it was made in some-what Desi style. But I really loved the thai soup. I would really recommend this to people who come, live, or ocassionaly visist New York.

Excellent food. The Tikka and the chinese food is superb. Also they catered a party of mine and teh food came very very late actually 2hours later. BUt the restaurant dining in is excellent. But very crowded at nites

Excellent food. The best Pakistani food in North America, especially chicken Kebobs. They do catering for parties too. We recently had function catered by Kebob king, every body loved it.
