A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant. From the owner: 'I can confirm Al Wahid sells 100% Zabiha Halal meat as we have recently bought this business on February 1, 2013. We purchase our meat from Fatima- Zabiha Halal Processors and Crescent foods. Since we have purchased Al Wahid we have cleaned it and have invested alot to in order to make it a good environment for customers.'

Honestly, they have some of the best Indian food on the go. Everything is homemade and delicious, I highly recommend the Biriyani and goat korma. The store here is very well priced also! Don't hesitate to eat here.
chicken biryani is very good - tried it many times recently and it is consistent and has good taste.
Best food and halal meat store ever😃! The aunty and employees are so sweet and nice. The prices are reasonable and the place is clean. The food is fresh and very delicious. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Chicken biryani is way below average. I understand they can't cook fresh biryani for every customer but my serving honestly tasted stale. Would never go back for the chicken biryani. However, price wise it was cheap.
I had chicken biryani here tonight and I found it to be just average. The taste was OK but the the rice was really dry. They also give you very little rialta compared to the large portion of rice. Yes, the portion is really big and they put lots of meat in it as well.
The paratha is amazing here. So soft and flaky. It suited really well with their amazing chicken tikka and seekh kababas that we had. We are looking forward to go for nashta at this place as I have heard great things about their channay. The place is small and has only too tables to sit in but I dont even care about that considering the food is so good.
Very very good
I have been going to this place for last 5 years, never had any problem; however, the management has recently changed. Since the new management took over, I noticed that they are selling expired products (soups, noodles) and on top of that if you would mention that to them...the bald guy is not going to be pleased about that... in fact there is a chance that he would lose his temper and be extremely rude to you... Be careful if u r buying any cooked food on Sunday, because it is highly likely that you will be given stale food ( I think they cook every think on Friday and keep selling them for next few days)... I m pretty sure you will find expired products sitting in those shelves easily. I think there are better places for cooked food as well as for grocery "¦its just you just have to look around a little!
I just called Al Wahid Grocery and asked them where do they buy their chicken from. They told me Yousuf bhai. Yousuf bhai is the owner of Zabiha Halal Meat Pro. I then called Zabiha Halal and asked them if Al Wahid buys chicken from them. They said NO. I will not trust a person who lies.
There food is ok, they use shan boxes. lol. Biryani is so so
I recently called this place to confirm where they get there meat from, Just to know if they are getting it from certified zabiha Halal meat supplier. The person on the phone wasn't to cooperative at first and then lied to me that they have there own slaughter House in Rockford IL and they supply to 35 stores in chicagoland area. I Won't buy meat from this place for sure.
This shop sells halal meat, groceries and also have a restaurant. Food is good esp. their nihari, haleem or frontier chicken. They do also cater. Customer service is below average and need uplifting..as they often forget phone orders..wait time at the register can be very long as well. Store appears to be overloaded with merchandise with not too much space..
Good place for buying meat, but some of the products do not have price tag, so you don't know what the price is until you go to the checkout. Still I go to this place because its cheaper then few of the other places around the area.
After being a loyal customer of Pak-Hind Grocers for years, we just switched to Al-Wahid and we are very pleased! The owners are very courteous and we get our money's worth here. Although I think they do not have a good selection of bread/nan/pita.
This is a new joint in a spacious storefront close to the local mosque as well as to the local competition. They have an IFANCA certificate. The store - unlike the competition in the area - is clean, spacious, organized, and doesn't smell like tripe. What's nice is that (at least for now) you can just walk in and get your zabihafied meat order in 15 minutes. The place is trying to build business and the service is above average. About the only detriment is that aside from some Syrian bread, virtually all the goods are aimed at the desi market. All in all, a nice "halal" addition.
