I would give this restaurant a below average grade ! Texturally the rice were hard and had a hint of staleness to it, samosas were an utter disappointment ; they were greasy, bland and weren't cooked enough! I will not like to go there again

Quality of the food is nasty

Quick, ecnomical food. I feel that their chicken biryani is one of the best. Kitchen which is partly visible looks quite dirty.

Food is 100% halal. The owner has halal certificates posted. The decor needs to be improved. Best items to try are chicken and goat birani, chilli chx rice and gyros rice...parhata rolls and grill items are spicy but tasty.

Food is so so ,wasnt impressed. Now that i read all these reviews, i understand why it was so cheap to eat there. I rather spend xtra money but would like to have good quality zabiha halal food. It makes sense how can you afford to even sell biryani so cheap, it because people saying its not zabiha halal chicken, yuk, never eating there

These people serving non- zabiha chicken. We have seen it and so as other few people buying it from restaurant depot. Even restrnt depot sell some of the zabiha halal products aswell but the whole chicke, chicken breasts, wings are non- zabiha. Muslims beware if you are strict about non-zabiha food because thats what they are serving.

Food is delicious. If you do not care except for food, that is a good place to eat.Honestly, there are some problem because of cleanness. For price, it is incomparable. The cheapest price you'll find in Chicago, even in the U.S.

Visited this place after a long time. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Everything including Biryani, Seekh and Chilli Chicken were excellent. Not ideal for families but the food was delicious and really inexpensive.

Quality of food has improved a lot in recent year...along with more Menu options. Try out their Paratha rolls esp. chicken and gyro and Gryo rice. Comparing other restaurants in the nearby area this surely beats them with price but I noted that quantity of a given item is comprised as it is less. Their main course dishes such as chicken karahi, biryani are all improved a lot. Good and fast customer service but they need to speak slow on the phone when taking orders...when i give phone order the guy always speak very fast and often goes over my head...:)...over all a good take out restaurant...they have few chairs/table to eat-in as well. I usually go there two to three times a month.

My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel, being from toronto we heard great about the chicago's Desi food scene, so this place poped up on the search with plenty of positive reviews. How ever when we walked it the dissapointments started, the seating arrangements were quite uncomfortable since its a takeout joint, the few seats available had food debri on the floor under tables from previous guest, it turns out that only cash is accepted on the premisis, so we go nearby at to make arrangement, Cash in hand we decide to order Kabobs, around 7pm they broke the news as Dinner service is just starting that the business is out of all kabobs, so we decided to walk out and drive to devon area. Also to be honest I dont know if people who eat there must have bad taste in food from judging the looks of the biryani, it didnt nowhere looked anything like biryani. I can make one suggestion that this place changes its name from Bunda Gawaz to Gunda Gawaz for its entire experience.

The taste was excellent, we tried Chicken Biryani, Shami Kabobs and Chicken, every thing was great. Naan was extra large size, so was the food. It was lot of great tasting food for the money. Sitting facilities were below average but the food was great.

It's one of those places you can go late in the day and have something that will hit the spot the gyro roll is pretty good. If I'm in the neighborhood and looking for something not too pricey $ I would stop by

Best Biryani in town. I was surprise, it has the same taste what I eat at home. And you can't beat the price.

Very very low prices. The chicken rolls are very tasty. Biryani is ok - not sure why they call it the best one in town.. I've tasted better. But the food in general is good. just can't sit and eat here - its' all carry out. Butter chicken curry is good.

The food is excellent. The Haleem, Chilli Chicken and sandwiches are amazing for the price. A must stop.

After reading all the good reviews and ignoring a few bad ones , I decided to check it out ... and I can only sum up my experience in one word "HORRIBLE" .. I don't know how they have been running this place for so long , we went to their new location in Bolingbrook and ordered Haleem and Chicken Karahi (as recommended by the guy over at the counter) and they were both terrible. That was by far the worst food I have had in a desi restaurant. The food went from plate to trash.! I'm never going there again ! Stay home and cook rather then spending your buck there ! No matter how bad you cook , you can't go worse than what they sell !

Best food on Earth. I have been eating there since they opened. I am going for iftaar there today at their Bolingbrook location. Best value for your dollars..

Great Food. Fast service. Cant beat the price. I'll definitely go there again. Chicken biryani is the best.

Worst Ever restaurant. Please save your money. This restaurant is not even 2 miles from my place but I will never go there. The old man at sales counter hates his job and it reflects. The food is worst than lef over. The price seem cheap but you are paying for crappy food. You are better off eating maggie noodles or Ramin Noodles.

Food is good. Price is excellent. The kabab parathas are very good. The biryani is good and thank god most time they do not cook it like Ghareeb Nawaz. Achar gosht is very good. Don't expect much if you dine in. Tables are plastic and food is served on paper plates. More of a carry out restaurant. Whenever I am not feeling well I eat the parthas from here and get better.

It's one of those fall back kinda places when you absolutely have no food in the house and don't want to order pizza. Service is touch-n-go...sometimes the order is ready, processed in minutes, and tastes good. Other times, you could wait over 10 minutes for a "special of the day", have the guy mumble at you when presented with a Visa, and you're lucky if you find 2 boties in the entire order of biryani. Seems like the chefs keep changing, as the same dish could taste awesome to awful for no valid reason.

Food is very good and very inexpensive.

The gyro parathas at Banda Nawaz are superb. The other types of paratha are also tasty and well worth the 3 dollar price tag. I haven't been as impressed by the rice dishes.

We used to come here a lot for the Bun Kabobs (2.95 special), but recently, I have been dissatisfied with the inconsistent quality. The last Kabob I ordered was definitely not cooked that day. Plus, they got rid of our 2 favorite: Qeema Bun Kabobs and Tandoori Chicken Bun Kabobs! They need to be more focused on their business. Not only is the customer service very cold, but the place is not too inviting, now their food is losing it...

The old dude at the counter doesn't really want you there. It seems like somebody made him just sit there and stare at you. The food is not even decent.

I visited this place ( based on this sites review) on my last trip to Chicago. Food was tasty and priced OK. I personally had very good experience with my food order. While I was there some people who had phoned in their orders came in to find out their orders were not ready as promised.

The people at Banda are very nice. The two brothers over there treat their customers very well. They are very generous with their servings too. I never had any sort of problem with them. Everything is sold in a lot of quantity. The biryani is just soo great and so are the sandwiches. I am hooked on to it now :)

I ABSOLUTELY love Banda Nawaz's Food. It's a small family restaurant. I have been going there since it opened up 2 years ago. The food is excellent so is the customer service. I have had caterings done by them as well. The owners wife does the cooking and she makes it just the way my mom did back home. I just read that the owner badmouthed a customer in punjabi, that cannot be true because it's a urdu speaking family. I would reccomend everyone to go and check this place out.

When I last went there in the afternoon there was this old bald man with a white moushtache. He was the owner. I ordered a few biryanis to go. As they had not put any napkins in my parcel bag. I helped myself to a few napkins. I was shocked to hear the owner telling me "Enough", "Enough". Then he started badmouthing me in Punjabi to another man beside him. I barely took 6 napkins. We all need napkins to wipe are hands and mouth. Not like I took a huge pack of it. I was suprised at the respect and value the owner has for his customers. "Badenawaz owners do understand that you are here to serve us. And to value us. Not Disrespect us" Next instance I had gone with my friend a few days before the above incident for lunch. And we ordered Dal Ghosht and parathas to go. When we opened our boxes to have them there as we decided last minute on eating our lunch there. We found not a single piece of meat 'gosht' in our dal boxes. So we told the same man who was there at the front desk. He took our boxes of dals away with disgust, muttering something under his breath. And brought them back with Gosht. So brothers watch out. Check the food that you buy. This place is not as good as it looks. And the people are not very hospitable as they seem.

The food was great, especially the chicken biryani was great in quantity and taste. Good service.

I have only been there once...never going back. No offence to anyone, but I want desi people making my desi food.

I had Banda Nawaz cater a party for me recently for about 50 people and I must say that I was very satisfied. I thought their prices were pretty reasonable. Their chicken biryani is really good! The ghosht khorma was a bit on the oily side, but okay. They were very good about packaging all the food up nicely for pickup and they gave A LOT of food for the money. I had a bunch of food left over that I sent home with everybody.

The food was great. I had the Parata Lamb Gyro which was absolutely fabulous. The bad thing is that there aren't to many tables and seats within the restaurant itself. But even if you tkae your food home it will be hot and fresh

Delicious food with affordable prices. Chicken Birayni is excellent in taste. Halwa puri order comes with a lot of food. Very friendly service.

Very cheap food. Generally the food is good. Their Halwa Puri on weekends is really bad. Their naan is also not good. Not enough place for eat-in. Nevertheless, I'd recommend it.

I went to this place last week with a friend, I was very disappointed. We orderd Chciken Briyani, chapli kababs and Chilli Chicken. Out of all the above only Chapli kababs seemed and tasted fresh. The service was very poor and seemed like they dont care.I will not go to this place again.

Though sometimes the service is slow, but their food quality makes up for it. Plus, their customer dealing/service is amazing, if basit is there you can talk to him about deer hunting, with faisal you can touch upon any religious, political, and such issues. After going their once, cant help but go their every day now.

This place has the same great quality of food as its parent, Ghareeb Nawaz. If there were Desi taxi drivers in large numbers in the Western Suburbs, THIS is where you would find them all.

Oh man the food is awesome. The price is right. The quantity is enormous for one serving. One has to go and check it out. They own a restaurant on Devon called Ghareeb Nawaz.

I had their Haleem. It was the best Haleem I ever had. I had a Chicken Biryani for carry out, and my wife loved it. We are their regular customers now.

Continued....We had also bought Frontier Chicken. That was not cooked well as well at all! You know how in a Chicken salan you have the chicken and the curry? Well, this frontier chicken was like the chicken salan minus the curry. It was as if they they had pulled out the chicken from the curry and broke it into pieces and gave it to us! We did not have a good exp. at all with their food! It is about time they cooked their food properly and hired some desi cooks! I have to give props to their Gyros Paratha though! They were awesome. Next time that is all we will order from there. BTW...the Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam never said anything bad about food. If he never liked any type of food, he would not eat it. I have tried to criticize the cooks and not the food.

I can not begin to tell you of my grief and sorrow. Words fail to tell of my anguish and loss. Life will never be the same again after the last time I bought from Banda Nawaz. I bought about $20 worth of food. The Gyro paratas was the ONLY decent thing that we ordered. Other than that? The Vegetable biryani was cooked awfully! I mean it was terrible! There was soo much ghi and oil in there! I could not believe that they could actually put soo much greasy stuff in there! I took a couple of morsels. My wife took a couple and then that was it! We decided to part with it! I didn't want to throw it in the garbage because it was a whole plate full of food. I looked out the window and I saw some geese walked outside our crib. Then the worst thought came to my mind. Why don't I go and give it to the geese I thought? Cause it was a typical Chicago winter. To make the story short, I went outside and left the food for the poor geese. I looked out of my window, and one geese walked up to it, pecked at it a couple of times, and shook it's head and walked away! I could almost picture what the goose was thinking. YUCK! That was nasty!

Very Good Chicken and Lamb Biryani. $3 for a lot of Biryani, plus you can't beat the friendly service.

I have had their chicken bun kababs a number of times. Rather low on flavor and very greasy. Kudos for friendly service.

The food was alright, the prices are low and you get what you pay for.... I've had chicken and beef gyros from them that were a bit too greasy and salty, plus dry/hard rice in the biryani.

Banda Nawaz is Bangin! Their Gyro Parantas are off the hook. I should warn you that once you go Banda, theres no turning back...don't be suprised to find yourslef make a midnite run to Banda Nawaz for a Sizzlin GYro Paranta.

This place is awesome, alhumdulillah, its a corner shop style restaurant, with cheap yet great classic desi food. Im hitting it up after every Taraweeh since it is close to the Masjid

Those brothers running Banda Nawaz are doing a pretty good job. The food is great and the prices are ubelievably low.

I think these folks are linked with Ghreeb Nawaz Rest. on devon. Good food and very low prices. Works for me!
