Br. Abdullah Mosaufer - Please note that while FIANZ certifies Nando's at Ghuznee Street, Wellington (they also display FIANZ's Certificate prominently on the counter), it has not certified Nando's at Courtney Place. The reason for not certifying the Courtney Place outlet as Halal was that FIANZ was told by the management of Nando's that they would be serving alcohol here. Hence, FIANZ did not deem it proper to certify this outlet as Halal.
Nando's is an international fast food restaurant that serves grilled chicken with spicy Portuguese sauce. Some of them might have Halal food. Acording to the workers at the other Nando's this branch gets its supply of chicken from same sourse so it must be Halal. However there was no certification from FIANZ (Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand) on display but it clearly said Halal in Arabic on the store menu. Also this store does not show up on company's Web site at www.nandos.com.au.
The restaurant itself is spacious and nice, and has plenty of seating. My friends recommended this place to me as they have been to other locations. It took about 20 minutes to make a single wrap and fries. Despite the high remarks from my friends, the chicken itself is bland and tastes unseasoned. Even the sauce, it isn't anything groundbreaking. It just tastes like some sort of variation of store brand sweet and sour. The wrap was also quite mushy and had a low quality texture. Fries were good. Overpriced for what is offered. I would not come here again.
