Located on Thanon Pra Atit, Roti Mataba specializes in Gaeng Roti (curry w/ fried roti) and Matabak (stuffed roti). It is a small, somewhat dingy place, but offers delicious fare at an excellent value, and is often packed w/ a lunchtime crowd. Try the Chicken Korma or Gang Massaman - and don't forget to save room for some desert - roti cooked with egg and drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. You can walk off your lunch in the park across the street overlooking the Chao Phaya River. Ahhh... I could taste that light, flakey roti right now.

It’s just ok. Wanted to try it as the aroma walking by is amazing, and it’s meant to be 100 years old. The roti are prepared to order - awesome. But the curries are prepared cafeteria style, sitting on a steam table all day. Also found the flavor to be far too sweet to my taste. The mussaman curry I ordered was a very small portion for the price - three small cubes of beef, two small slivers of potato, no peanuts - which is kinda standard for this dish. The small bowl it was served in was not even half full. If you must have halal food or you’re just looking for a snack - might be of interest to you. But SO much good food in the neighborhood, I’d prob give it a miss.
