Best shawarma in Ottawa. Service is eh, portions are large but that\'s because of the higher prices you pay.
Really great Shawarma platter! I love the garlic sauce, potato, and chicken.
Had chicken and beef kabab sandwitch, and later that day, shawarma sandwiches of the same animals. All four items pass my tests. Mildly spicy, tender meat, and not-stale shawarma bits. It was dripping in the middle (we were eating in the car). The biggest tragedy about almost all halal places is inconsistency in quality. So 4/5 for now, until next time.
Anytime we are in Ottawa, it has become a tradition to stop at Shawarma Palace. The best Shawarma place, hands down, anywhere in Ontario! And if you get the shawarma plate, it is so huge, 2 people can easily eat it for around $15. Garlic sauce, salad and potatoes along with the rice are all done nicely, and the chicken and beef are tender and juice! Even the Baklava was excellent. It isn't a fancy place to sit down and eat, but its still comfortable. My only recommendation is maybe in the future, having freshly baked pita along with the shawarma plates.
I have to admit the shawarma here is pretty good. However, to claim these guys have the best shawarma in a town where shawarma shops are ubiquitous, is a very tall order. Portions are nice, prices are competitive and taste is above average. I recommend.
Can't go wrong here. Best shawarma in Ontario...
The food was pretty good, but the portions were small and it was quite expensive for shawarma.
Hands down, the BEST (repeat: the BEST) Shawarma I have ever had, and I have been to the countries where Shawarma was invented. The plate sizes are huge, the food tastes absolutely unbelievable, and it was healthy. This restaurant is a HIGHLIGHT of a our trips to Ottawa (from Toronto), like an attraction. This is the sentiment of all of my friends in Toronto who have been there. The place had a LINEUP for seating, its kinda small for such a bustling restaurant. Its really in a run-down neighbourhood. The staff was friendly, and the prices were more than satisfactory for the portions we've got.
OK updating. I went there July 2010 and the rice smelled and tasted old. I didn't find the chicken shawarma as tasty as previously. Not sure what happened. They do still play a lot of music. It's not very quiet as it is still pretty busy. Their plates are huge. One plate would serve two adults. Sandwiches on the other hand are a bit small. Their eggplant is very oily. The restrooms are down a long narrow staircase and are pretty dim and small. I don't think I will go back, unless it is out of necessity.
Undoubtedly the best shawarma place in Ottawa, probably in Canada. Classy, friendly, and excellent food. The prices are higher than others, but they're proportional to the serving size - and one plate can easily feed two people.
Haha! Everyone before is correct! This is THE place to have Lebanese food. BEST shawarma for sure and when you order the plate don't cringe that it costs $10 because that plate is enough to feed 2 adults! SERIOUSLY! Don't order the plate by yourself cuz you won't be able to finish. :D
Excellent Place. Had the Fillet-mignot kabob plate and my wife had the chicken kabob plate. Both were very good. The staff is friendly. Nice pictures and artwork from Lebanon on the walls. Definitely worth checking out when in Ottawa.
'Excellent' is too weak a word to describe the food. It's food from heaven. Absolutely delicious and tasty and man is it fresh. Very strongly recommended. Their reputation for being halal is undoubted.
The best place for Shawarma in Canada. Decent service, great food, reasonable prices.
Shawarma Palace is my favourite mid-east place in Ottawa. I agree that the food here is very good.. On the other hand, I feel that it is quite a bit overpriced... I wish that somebody at the restaurant reads this and lowers their prices, because I would definitely eat there way more if they did that.
The best shawarma in Ottawa, hands down! Is conveniently located close to the University of Ottawa. Staff are very kind and friendly.
Amazing food. I would drive 5 hours to Ottawa just to have their Chicken Shawarma plate!
Great food! I want to go back to Ottawa just to have some more shawarma from this place.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT. Close to Ottawa University. Ahhhhh, all i can say is YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMYYYY
Best Shawarma in Ottawa? Easy...Shawarma Palace...the people are extrememly nice...Portions...more then plenty...In fact I'm eatting a chicken shawarma plate...The best...Yum..Try it and I bet you that it's the best you've ever had! 10 bucks a chicken plate...enough to feed 2 people or one hungry me...
"We were looking for a halal place to have lunch, and my good friend JJ recommended this place and we all met up around quarter to noon, on a Sunday. Well, as soon as I walked in, I was surprised to see the beautiful mouthwatering menu that was being prepared for the day. The person serving the food told us that since they offically open at noon we'd have to wait. Well... well... well... the wait was worth it. My friend AM described the best chicken shwarmas she ever had and JJ himself described them to be better than the ones he had in his life. Well, I wanted to have a traditional shwarma sandwich... but the since all the food was prepared I went for the shish-kebob platter with kebbehs and ruz bukhari on the side. Man that was wonderful, amazing. To tell you the truth, we overate - almost 3x the normal appetite just because of the simply delicious and fresh food. The price was reasonable and the service excellent. The portion size was amazing. They play light persian/arabic music and it blends in well with the whole setting. Make sure you drop by the Shwarma Palace whenever you're cruising thru downtown Ottawa. Jazaks!"
