Very delicious food
Not everything is Halal, the place is nice, the food is good. We went there arount 4:00pm and the service was very bad. There nobody to help us when we need anything.
Not everything on the menu is zabihah, like the steaks as of the last time we went there. The food is very good, plus you can get items like brains which you cannot find everywhere. Parking can be tough on weekends so be prepared to valet.
excellent food be it quality, serving size or taste. Every thing tasted so good.Only the prices are on the higher side.
Really amazing kubideh. The negative is that they serve alcohol. Excellent food and a lively atmosphere.
Nice sit-down/formal restaurant if that's what you're looking for. Food is decent.
Price is too high ($15-$24 per dish). Friendly people. Serves alcohol. Halal sign on the menu. I ordered the Fesenjan, it was good but not the best. I will not go back.
For Persian food, now that I've qualified my bias, it's good. Though after having eaten there I was informed the food is "halal" and not "zabihah" by previous customer - if you know what i mean. If I go there again, I'll ask. But you may want to as well.
We have always had excellent food and service. It is not as pricey as some Persian restaurants in SF and the portions are big. It's our favorite Persian restaurant in SF, although parking tries my patience sometimes, try going north on Grant or Stockton a few blocks away to park or pay the $5-7 for valet parking. It's also a nice area to walk around before or after eating. Reservations often required.
Pricey but large portions of wonderfully prepared food with excellent service. Parking is either by valet or you might drive around for some time looking for a space. If the weather is good it is a nice area to walk a few blocks.
I've been here a dozen times and I'll always keep coming back. The people are friendly. The kabab koobideh, barg, ash, and stews are top notch. They have the VERY BEST lamb/eggplant stew (khoresht bademjan)i've ever had, and I've had that dish at a couple dozen places. The atmosphere is incredibly classy, yet welcoming and non-pretentious. They also have such old world iranian cuisine as lamb tongue and brain, which is never served in restaurants anymore. I don't do the latter so i can't advise, but they make the former better than I ever had it at home (and my folks are great cooks). You pay for the quality but it's definitely worth it. I'm trying to be balanced but I can't think of a single negative experience i've had here. I recommend highly.
This place may be the oldest Persian restaurant in SF still in business but it certainly not the best. The ambiance is average, with tables perhaps a little too cramped. The valet parking is handy and the location is major plus (finally some real culture in N Beach). The menu varies from mainly average dishes (fesenjoon, baghali palow) to some real stunners (succulent kebab kubideh and the wonderful, fresh arsh) but you'll have to experiment to find anything really memorable.

Wonderful food, although a bit pricey. Great ambiance place to take visitors to SF.
