I regularly have breakfast at Karak Chai in Luton and near Heathrow, and the quality there is excellent — especially the shakshuka, which is always well-presented, covered with cheese, and consistently tasty. Today, I convinced my friends to try Karak Chai, and we visited the Kingsbury branch as it was the closest. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment and my worst experience with Karak Chai so far. The staff member at the counter did not even know what ingredients are in the shakshuka. This is completely unacceptable for a food establishment. In other branches, the dish is prepared properly and presented in a way that encourages customers to order more. At Kingsbury, the first impression was terrible, and the staff showed zero product knowledge or professionalism. Customers come to Karak Chai as a franchise, expecting the same food quality, taste, and service across all branches. The Kingsbury branch clearly fails to meet these basic standards. The lack of care and consistency is shocking. I will not return to this branch and would not recommend it. It honestly feels like this location is run casually by friends or family, with no concern for customer experience or brand standards.
