I discovered Chino Mex while I was at Kroger and noticed the restaurant had just opened. I wasn’t aware of their hours and ended up placing my order very close to closing time. Even though it was last minute, they were incredibly kind and still fulfilled my order, although a few items were no longer available. That level of customer service really stood out to me. The environment is very chill, and the staff are extremely kind and thoughtful. Another great thing is that their food is Halal, which was a nice surprise since not many restaurants offer that option. Now let’s talk about the food. It’s amazing. The spicy chow mein and the spicy orange chicken both have a nice little kick to them, but they’re not overwhelmingly spicy. My boyfriend has almost no spice tolerance, so it was a bit much for him, but for anyone who enjoys a small kick of spice, I would definitely recommend trying those dishes. The birria fries are absolutely incredible and honestly to die for. The flavors are rich and really well balanced. Since I’m currently on a caloric deficit diet, I ordered steamed rice with their sautéed vegetables and the salt and pepper shrimp, and it was delicious while still feeling like a lighter option. Overall, the quality of the food is beyond great, and the customer service made the experience even better. I will definitely be recommending Chino Mex to everyone I know.
