The service was absolutely fantastic, the boss, Sherine, was so kind and friendly. The food was amazing, and the tea was beyond my expectations. I highly recommend it.
Really disappointed. I ordered a fudge cake for £5.25 and the portion size was tiny. I don’t mind paying that much but you expect a decent slice, not something that looks like half a portion. It honestly felt like a joke when it came out. The cake was average too, nothing special about the taste at all, so it definitely didn’t justify the price or the size. Just felt like paying premium prices and getting barely anything to eat. Left w feeling ripped off and still hungry. Wouldn’t order dessert from here again
Tried first time definitely won’t be back. The keema mattar was bland and tasteless served with frozen roti. The aloo paratha was also frozen. The only things that were nice were the fresh paratha that I ordered later due to how bad the initial frozen paratha and roti were. Also the French toast was good. There are plenty of better places out there with nastha options. I don’t recommend this place.
I recently stopped by Chaiology on Ladypool Road and tried two items on the menu. Their Karak Chai and the Oreo Cheesecake. The Karak Chai was decent; warm, comforting, and carrying the familiar flavour profile you’d expect. It wasn’t exceptional, but it was enjoyable enough for a quick chai stop. The Oreo Cheesecake however, was just average. A common issue I notice with many tea shops, including here, is that their cakes are served too cold. Because they’re kept at such a low temperature, the cheesecake ends up much firmer than it should be. Cheesecake should be soft, creamy, and smooth when eaten, its texture is a big part of what makes it satisfying. When it’s too hard, the flavour doesn’t come through as well, and it loses that indulgent feel.
I think prime of chaiiology is over, heard about it so much but I think I missed my chance to go there when it was in prime. If an eatery boasts of desi culinary roots then it should have taste complimenting the same. I ordered halwa puri aloo partha daal pratha punjabi churi. It was disappointing from taste perspectiveand portion size. Karak chai was only high point in whole order. There is chaiiwala next door it looked busier than chaiiology which speaks volumes. Or probably nashta isn't chaiiology's forte.
