One unique aspect is that the masjid is going through a renovation after being one of the oldest orthodox Catholic Churches in the East Bay. It's located right in the heart if downtown historic Union City. The property is still being paid for so they still need all your financial help. Alhamdulillah its founders are committed to paying the remaining balance without interest! Quite a rarity these days. Perhaps what makes this masjid unparalleled to any other masjid in America are two factors. One, the educational aspects and any final decisions will be made by qualified scholars raised in America. Second, the majority of the founders and board members are young, practicing professionals in their twenties! These young Muslims spearheaded much of the work to start the masjid. Not to undermine the invaluable work of the elders and scholars who have also contributed greatly.
