Sunni (Traditional)

A purpose-built mosque located on the busy intersection of W. Esplanade and Power Blvd in Metairie, a suburb in the greater New Orleans area. Masjid Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq was founded in 1988. Men enter the lower-level door to enter the main hall, where a star-shaped skylight sits in the center dome above. Women pray on a second floor balcony overlooking the men's prayer area. The congregation consists primarily of first- and second-generation Americans from Pakistan, India and a number of Middle Eastern countries.

The Mosque building is beautiful. Its pretty much the only Masjid in Greater New Orleans that looks like a traditional Mosque. The Imam also gives a good Khutbah.

nice mosque and the imam's khutbahs are very good mashAllah. It does get really crowded. I need to attend more to see how it is to be a regular attendee, esp as a woman.
