Hidden gem — authentic Turkish street food at its absolute best! Neco Tantuni & Künefe is the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately want to keep as your secret. Tucked away in Enfield, this tiny family-run spot serves up some of the most flavourful, homely Turkish street food I’ve had outside of Turkey itself. The tantuni is the real deal — perfectly spiced, beautifully cooked on the saj, and assembled right in front of you with fresh toppings. Every bite is packed with flavour. But don’t sleep on the künefe — it might be the best I’ve had in London. Crispy shredded pastry soaked in syrup, served warm with clotted cream or ice cream, finished with crushed pistachio. Just the right level of sweetness — not too much, not too little. Pure bliss. The içli köfte (fried stuffed bulgur shells) were equally impressive — crispy outside, flavourful inside, with the sauces to match. The service is warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming — you feel like a guest in someone’s home. The place is clean with a cosy, rustic feel that adds to the charm. This has become a firm regular for me. Highly recommend to anyone who loves proper, honest Turkish food. Just go. You won’t regret it. 🇹🇷
