Chaiiwala began in Leicester in 2015 with a simple, almost stubborn idea: bring the cardamom-and-ginger karak our founders grew up with, the cup served in family kitchens and roadside dhabas across South Asia, to the British high street, properly. No syrups. No shortcuts. A seven-spice blend, whole milk, slow brewing, pulled long the way it’s done back home. The first store opened its doors in Leicester, and the queue made the case. People weren’t just looking for a chaii, they were looking for the cup that meant home. Ten years on, we’re 115 stores strong across the UK, Canada and growing, pouring over 100 million cups, and still brewing each one the way our founders learned in Mumbai.

URGENT: Formal Complaint and Request for Investigation – Preston Deepdale Road Store Preston PR1 Dear Head Office Complaints Team at Chaiiwala, I am writing to formally escalate a serious complaint regarding both product quality and unacceptable customer service at your Chaiiwala Preston Deepdale Road branch. During my recent visit, I was served tea that was of clearly substandard quality and did not meet the expected taste or standard associated with your brand. As a regular and loyal customer across your North West stores, this experience was both unexpected and unacceptable. What is more concerning is the way my complaint was handled on-site. When I politely raised my concerns, your staff responded in a dismissive and argumentative manner, insisting there was no issue rather than addressing the situation professionally. This behaviour reflects a serious failure in customer service standards and basic complaint handling. I would like to make it clear that this is not simply about one poor cup of tea—it is about the complete breakdown in quality control and customer care. As a business that relies heavily on customer loyalty and brand trust, this type of experience is damaging and unacceptable. As a result of this incident: • My confidence in your brand has been significantly undermined • I no longer feel comfortable visiting your stores • I am seriously reconsidering my continued support as a regular customer I am therefore demanding the following: 1. An immediate and thorough investigation into this incident 2. A review of product quality standards at the Preston Deepdale Road branch 3. Appropriate staff training on customer service and complaint handling 4. A formal response outlining the outcome of your investigation and actions taken Please treat this matter with urgency. I expect a prompt and detailed response, as failure to address this issue adequately will leave me with no option but to escalate the matter further. I trust that you will take this complaint seriously and act to restore the standards your customers expect. Yours faithfully, R A
