About Anwar's Kitchen

Located in the heart of the Los Angeles Fashion District and soon-to-be Culver City Westfield Mall, Anwar's Kitchen offers authentic Mediterranean recipes created by Social Media star Anwar Jibawi and his mother Amal Jibawi. Anwar and his mother have shared beloved videos through the years and various cooking shows on YouTube, hence the genesis of his restaurant. Most of our signature recipes come from Anwar's mother and have been passed down in the family for generations. We have brought on our executive chef extraordinaire, Mahmoud Bisher, a native from Jordan to bring these wonderful recipes to life year-round! Specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine, everything is made in-house from scratch and his talents are truly beyond compare. We celebrated our opening on November 28, 2020, and have been open for takeout and delivery.

This is a shawarma spot in DTLA. I liked it. I got their shawarma tacos, where you get four mini shawarmas with your choice of filling served in a little pita bread taco. I got one of each of their fillings--beef, chicken, gyro, and falfafel. This place gets a lot of hype on social media, so for anyone who lives really far away, I wouldn\'t call it a food destination (i.e., if this is the only reason you\'re coming to DTLA, it\'s probably not worth more than a half hour drive). But to anyone who works, lives, or just happens to be near DTLA, this is a place I would recommend.
