We were born in South Africa, with a blend of Portuguese and British culture along the way. It all started in Mozambique, home of the hot sun, rich soil... and African Bird’s Eye Chillies. Also known as PERi-PERi. Small but mighty, these chillies have been used for centuries in local Mozambiquan cooking. The Portuguese then added a squeeze of lemon and kick of garlic to make the first PERi-PERi sauce. Used on just about anything, they found it was the ultimate baste for flame-grilling spatchcocked chicken. And it wasn’t long before two friends in Johannesburg came to experience the taste of PERi-PERi chicken and Nando’s was born. Fast forward a few years, restaurants and Fino Pittas and today, the Nando’s PERi-PERi you know and love still pays homage to those roots.

Our halal chickens are pre-stunned to minimise suffering and fear before they're hand-slaughtered. All our halal products are kept separate at our suppliers and in our distribution centres. And our restaurants with halal-friendly options are only allowed to receive chicken from our approved distribution centre. In these restaurants, we only serve chicken that's certified halal. And as we don’t handle any pork ingredients, there’s no chance of cross-contamination'

3rd time this has happened which has caused me to leave this review After the 1st time i received burnt chicken thighs i always make sure to ask them to double check before sending out the order to me or when taking away. However the 3 portions of thighs were all burnt! Some of them 2 a crisp on 1 side and the other side was not cooked at all.. likee pay attention to the food fgs! Your not making a rocket ! And it defo isnt rocket science! Just look at the images ive attached! Went back after driving home for an hour just to find that AGAIN ive got burned to a crisp thighs.. did i ask for them well done????? NO! So drove straight back and this time i didnt want to just let it go! Went back and no apology.. just a we will bring a new portion out for you They didnt even look at the burned meal they had given me.. no refund nothing It was honestly a joke.. atleast give me a complimentary drink whilst i wait another 30 mins for the new order fgs! Your not breaking the bank! So basically after 2 hours and 30 mins..finally got my thighs as i stood at the counter watching them make it.. Then i told them before they finished cooking i might aswel sit inside now at this point as tables had started to become empty.. Next time im staying to check the order and will definitely make someody feel rather inexperienced and stupid as this was the final straw of paying for food and receiving poorly cooked food which ive paid for! UP YOUR GAME AND GET LOST FROM THE KITCHEN!
