Australia's original Korean fried chicken and beer joint in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. The best restaurant for big groups up for good times. Gami proudly serves 100% RSPCA-approved chicken. A decade and 15 stores later, we're still making friends.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From the management: 'Is it halal? You betcha.'

A Korean fried chicken spot next to Seven Star Pocha, which is always busy. I usually avoid crowded, noisy places, so Gami suited me better. It’s a small space with about 7–8 tables (around 25 seats). I went at 7:30pm on a weekday and there was only one table left, but it didn’t feel too loud. There was just one staff member serving, but she was quick and very friendly, which made the experience comfortable. We came as a group of three and ordered a Gami Platter (AUD 32.9) and Seoul Tteokbokki (AUD 17.9). - Gami Platter: comes with 12 pieces of chicken (8 boneless and 4 wings), two flavour options, and a side of corn cheese. The chicken was good, with a thin coating, not too oily, and still juicy inside. The corn cheese was a letdown, though—it tasted a bit sour, like low-quality or old canned corn. - Seoul Tteokbokki: The sauce was well-balanced and easy to eat, with fish cake, rice cakes, a boiled egg, and cabbage. It wasn’t very spicy, but paired really well with the chicken. The price is not cheap for the portion, but considering the food quality, location, and service, I was quite satisfied overall.
