EDIT (6/6/20): We went here a couple weeks ago and re-inquired about the halal status. The shift lead said that the chicken itself is zabihah, but it is fried in non-zabihah beef tallow. I appreciated her honesty. Basically it's up to the individual if they're okay with consuming non-zabihah oil as long as the chicken itself is zabihah.

It is HARAM. I called last week and inquired about the halal status. The shift lead said that the chicken itself is zabiha, but it is fried in non-zabiha beef tallow, so frying oil makes it HARAM.

Most of the Popeyes Chicken sauces that you get at their locations are not halal. You can check and verify yourself by going to Popeyes chicken website and looking up the ingredients of their sauces. I avoid eating at their locations even in Canada (where fry oil is OK) after learning that.
