Mardini's Gourmet Deli

I doubt this place is halal. I don\'t want to say the owner or employees are not honest but I suspect they have a different perspective on halal than most people using this site. I called and asked what meats are halal on their menu and the response was all of them. I tried to clarify - even the pastrami? Yes. What meat do you use for the bacon? Oh sorry you have to understand the market is less than 1% muslim and it wouldn\'t be possible to offer halal bacon. The bacon is pork. But all of the other meat is halal? I mean it\'s meat, it\'s halal. So I suspect by Halal, the owner here really means that it\'s not pork. (except when it is)
