Syrian and Lebanese restaurant. Cardiff City has a huge number of multicultural cuisine restaurants and outlets to the point where it may prove difficult to find somewhere a little more upmarket. However, Shaam Nights is a rather elegant dining experience and sets itself apart from the rest both inside and out. With a beautiful, rustic tiled floor, stained glass and bronze lanterns and noticeably deep cushioned seats, this is an authentic, ornamental Syrian establishment to enjoy. Layali Alshaam (Shaam Nights) offers you a rare opportunity to taste its halal authentic Syrian cuisine at the heart of Cardiff. Shaam nights is conveniently located close to City centre, less than ten minutes walk or couple of minutes drive.

An authentic Syrian experience in heart of cardiff. Went on a Saturday night with no booking but plenty of room as it’s a spacious restaurant with numerous seats. That being said there were people and families eating there and enjoying themselves and more importantly the food. Despite being in Cardiff, thousands of miles away from Syria, it truly felt like I was in a Syrian establishment. The food was as good as the atmosphere, as each bite contained a flavour filled punch of seasoning, smokiness and juicy meat flavours. I ordered the National dish, Kubba, which was an experience in its own right. A falafel, grainy like consistency on the outside, lightly fried and crispy, with a juicy mince meat interior that was filled with flavourful Lamb. For a main I recommend Laban Immo which was a new addition to the menu, a creamy, thick yogurt sauce/ stew with plenty of juicy lamb within, the stew like dish had a paprika touch and hint of lemony zest that compliments the possible fatty flavour of the lamb and thickness of the yoghurt. Essentially a very unique dish but super delicious. Finally the mango lassi which was thicker than I’m used to probably due to the yogurt used but absolutely worth it as it’s sweet, creamy and very fruity. A great restaurant that has as much of an authentic Syrian food experience as you could find in cardiff. Recommend this place if you have kids, a large family, solo, vegetarian you name it, they have it.
Tasty food, first time trying Syrian food and it did not disappoint. So many different flavours, nice menu and friendly staff. Not to mention the beautiful interior decor.
Delicious grill and cold mezze. Really nice service. Great decor in the place too. Really enjoyed the mixed grill (for 2) on a bed of rice. Recommmed this place highly…
Shaam Nights was an absolutely amazing experience Firstly the interior was beautiful. The food was of excellent quality, we ordered the platter for 5 which was perfect for our family and we recommend the Polo drink! The staff were amazing and the customer service was next level. We got a nice birthday surprise at the end with a dessert which was lovely! We hope to visit again soon
Absolutely amazing food and service. We got the platter for two with rice each which was plenty of food for both of us and so tasty! We had amazing service too, and were given complimentary sauce, mini desserts and mint tea! Could not fault the experience at all, definitely a great place to visit! And amazing value for money too, a must-try for anyone in Cardiff!
