About Xawaash
First opened in Etobicoke in March 2015, Xawaash is a Somali Mediterranean restaurant featuring healthy, freshly-crafted meals. We provide freshly grilled meat and vegetarian entrees served with sides such as hot, oven-baked pitas, fragrant Somali rice, and flavorful salads. Many of our dishes have been crafted with the purpose of sharing traditional Somali cooking with those who are not yet familiar, while satisfying and inspiring nostalgia in those who are. Other dishes showcase the strong influence that various cultures and ethnicities have had on Somalia throughout its history.

I stopped for a late night snack and got the beef samoosa, mango lassi and cheesecake. Everything was good. Premises a clean.

Xawaash has revolutionized the Somalian cuisine experience. After experiencing places like the New Bilans and Hamdi\'s, this place is a much bigger, brighter and cleaner dining-in experience. Beautiful restaurant with great food and friendly service. Even the owner came by to our table to ensure everything was ok. They have a huge array of food dishes on the menu and each platter comes loaded with food at adequate prices. We like 9 people so we ordered everything from the Suqaar, Chicken cutlets, Chicken steaks, various wraps, Shawarma platters, Lentil soup and various desserts. The Suqaar wasn\'t really astounding, but everything else was. The Sticky Toffee and the Graffe desserts were amazing. You have to have a cup of the Somalian coffee as well, but better to share as the intense ginger spice may be too much for some. The servers were patient, friendly and food came out at a reasonable time. Not only that, the owners share all their recipes and cooking experiences on their website which is very unique. Highly recommend!
