First-look of the restaurant gave impression of an Hindu temple. You need to ask menu of halal items. Taste was OK. Kids loved their dal maharani.

Visited the premises with a party of 12. Halal menu is separate from the main a la carte and buffet menus as Halal Zabihah meat is sourced outside of Switzerland e.g. France, Germany and Brazil, which is the common thing for Halal establishments in Switzerland (as told by the owner). Had the Lamb Korma, Roghan Josh, Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala, all of which are acceptable and perhaps catered towards Swiss palates. Naan was flat and a bit tough which must be eaten immediately when it is still hot. Briyani was average. Considering the sparse pickings in Zurich this establishment is a worthy option.

We absolutely loved our time at Taj Palace. The food was both authentic and delicious, and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. With 30 years of history, the restaurant’s legacy truly shines through in every detail. What set this experience apart, though, were the owners who personally served us. They were incredibly warm, attentive, and generous with their time, even sharing heartfelt stories about how the business has evolved over the years. They spoke openly about how dining habits are changing, with more people choosing takeaway instead of coming in to enjoy the full restaurant experience — which is such a shame, because places like this deserve to be appreciated in person. Their passion, resilience, and genuine care for their guests made our visit unforgettable. We will be back.
