Sukhothai

Perhaps we ordered food on an off night, since although the food tasted good, everyone in my party who had the yellow curry (with chicken) ended up with serious stomach issues that night. Besides the yellow curry we ordered the Pad Thai (good), fried rice with beef (also good) and the Chicken Satay (tasted a little bit different from what I\'m use to but still good). The price was also a little on the high side (over $60 CDN) for our take out order. May give this place another try when I\'m back in the area, since it\'s gotten a lot of positive reviews and perhaps we all happened to get sick from something else?

brilliant thai noodles, cozy well decorated and happening place! limited menu options is what makes them popular (i.e. do what you can do best, not have a giant menu, and no one item is a star.

The food was great. Best Halal Thai food I've had in North America..scratch that...some of the best thai food I've had in North America period halal or not. Excellent presentation and taste. We ordered the GUAYTIAW SUKHOTHAI soup as an appetizer (not usually served as an appetizer as the portion is huge but asked for two bowls to be divided between my wife and I) and I strongly recommend it. They really get the beef soft and flavorful.. The other two dishes we ordered were the SUKHOTHAI PAD THAI and KHAO SOI. Both are recommended. Portions are generous. The place is clean, modern, and well decorated, and located right downtown. I did have some issues with the service however. I went on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty packed and perhaps that was why but it took repeated reminders to get the bill and an we asked for an extra napkin on multiple occasions but failed to get it. Also they brought the smallest possible take out box for a good amount of food left over.

For those looking for a place to take non-Muslim friends this place has a great downtown atmosphere with a full halal menu (and the food is just fantastic). One of the few halal places you can find this well done. They do serve alcohol for those that need to know.
