Nice place with excellent falafel.
Yesterday I went to O\'Falafel with my wife and ordered Falafel. As we started eating it seemed like there is a weird taste in the food, but unfortunately we did not pay enough attention. Once we exit the restaurant a miserable story started. We got sick with food poisoning with stomach problem, vomiting and etc. It was my second time at this restaurant. Last time I didn\'t get sick but the food (which was not Falafel) was not good. This time we tried it again just based on a friend suggestion on the quality of their Falafel which was a big mistake. So, I\'ll never return to this restaurant again.
I asked them if they are halal and they said yes, they also have many Islamic and Arabic writings on the walls. I am in town in business and I tried their beef shawarma and it was amazing, one of the best I have personally had. Their fatoosh salad was good but nothing amazing. The restaurant is nice, with lots of room, nothing fancy though.
Unless the owners of this place have decided to go halal within the past year, O'Falafel to my understanding is not Zabihah. I asked the owner several times if their food was halal and they said yes. But they buy their chicken from Costco or Sam's Club. I understand there are many views on the definition of halal, but those wanting to eat meat only slaughtered and prepared by Muslims, beware you are most likely not getting it at this place. You must ask them if their meat is zabihah and they will say no. Allah knows best.
