Everytime I visit Dallas I go here. It has delicious and flavorful Indopakistani food for a great price. It is 100% zabihah. There is a halal market directly next to it that is owned by the same owners that sell street food inside the cafeteria. The halal market is bipartisan to Indopakistani food, so if you looking for halal deli meats and American style cuts...rethink it and search for a more American style halal market. Anyway, the restaurant is authentic and additive and the prices makes it even easier to support your new addiction. If you\\\'re coming to Dallas and looking for a nice hot pakistani meal, then look no further than Texas King.

Ordererd Lahori Chargha. Got it in a box along with other items and left on a 20 miles drive to home. At home opened and found that they re-fried an old Charga. Had no time to go back. At this time this is not even bad food, sheer dishonesty and stealing.

Nice clean place, 100% zabihah. dinning area seating arrangement is messed up. Had biryani. No one can beat their 1.99 veg/chicken biryani. I had chicken biryani the meat was mostly bones. Food is tasty overall.

went here for the first time to order meat from their market, decided to try their food. Chicken Khadai and Goat Khadai were delish, we even packed the left over masala to go. chicken kabob was alright, kind of tough even though it wasnt breast meat and the kulcha naan arrived cold and weren't very good. The seating arangement is really confusing, there is a formal room, then a casual Dining area, but no one really directs where to sit. people were friendly though despite an annoying auntie holding up the line to pay. Ideally 3.5 stars, yes will return to try their chops and charga.

We have just moved from Plano to Grapevine. We had heard about this place from one of our friends. We went there to try the Iftar buffet. The place looks average but we never go by the looks. Unfortunately, the food was also very average and pricey for the quality and the variety. For dessert they had gajar ka halwa. There was sourness in the taste. When I brought this to the management, one of them was defending this with lame excuses instead of rectifying the problem. In all, I will never go back to this place again.

UPDATE: The 1.99 Biryani now comes with less meat but you still can not beat the value. I even cater Mutton Biryani from here which is a good value. They still take forever and a day even if you call ahead a few hours. Sept 2012: They have amazing 1.99 chicken Biryani and it actually has meat in it. The other items i tried were also pretty good. They do take forever to make your order so place ahead.

Just came back in Dallas after 2 years. We had lunch yesterday in this restaurant. The restaurant was dirty and so many flies in the lobby . Even we found a fly siting the salad . Call one of employee to change. No apology . Now come to food. Food was old and bread was not even hot . Very bed experience.

The food is not that bad as the reviews suggest here. Sometimes it is exceptionally good and other times it is average. But I won't call bad at all. At the price that they charge I would give it 4/5.

All the bad reviews on this place are justified. We actually had to throw out food because it smell bad. I just found out they over charge me extra $5 also. The quality of food is so bad that a place like this in Chicago would close down in a week. Avoid at all cost.

Congratulations! This is your first review on Google+ Local Edit Share Texas King Hated it I ordered my food for takeaway and went next door to check out the new sabzi mandi next door. Well when I got home and warmed up the food I was missing 2 items from my order and instead of giving me 3 naans like I paid for, there were only 2 were in the bag. As we sat down to eat my wife was complaining about the weird smell that it had, as soon as we took 1 bite of the kebab we both sensed that the meat was spoiled and it wasn't even the kind of kebab we had ordered and paid for. The nihari's beef couldn't even be consumed it had a strong smell and taste of spoiled or undercooked meat. We called the restaurant and all they could say was that they were SORRY. So never again will I ever take a chance of getting food poison from a place that is butcher meat shop with a kitchen. Cross contamination, salmonella and the list goes on. So rest of the patrons beware I used to love eating there till this miserable experience. Out of $40 with 2 items missing, 1 ordered swaped out for cheaper kabebas and 1 nan missing, the smell of the meat was awefully bloody. Will actually take some time to call the Texas department of health and human services to see what could be done.

I live in Irving, TX & regular customer of Texas king.I usually order food on phone & pick it up. We went 2-3 times recently during lunch & dinner to have it in hotel with family but their serive was too bad. They have 2 party halls for gents & ladies. The same waiters for the hotel take care of party hall food also. They take orders from hotel customers & parallely working in setting up food at party hall. we went for lunch & their biryani smell bad & looks like it was a day or 2 old. Biryani sucks over there & its not even worth for $1.99. Their only attraction is 2 party halls, sheek kabab, lahori charga & bihari kabab. Its not a restaurant to sit & eat as you are sure to wait for a long time. I got the order but waiter didnt get salad & raitha. It took him 15 mins just to get those. They dont have any competition near by with desi hotels & thats the reason they are still surviving. i feel Dera Grill is better than texas king.

i will agree with everyone on service..it's not great..they do tend to mix orders up. but if you are tight on budget and need dirt cheap food this is the place to go. their biryani isn't first class by any means but for 1.99 it's pretty decent. i like their chicken seekh kabob the best. make sure to call in your order or expect to wait a long time.

I have been to this restaurant many times and ordered almost all the things on their menu. They have the best food in town. They have the best Chicken Charga, Chicken Shikh Kababs, Chicken Karahi you name it. Everything has very authentic taste. I do agree about the cleanliness of the place but no compromise on taste. Very reasonable prices.

Texas king has utterly failed to impress us. They are not consistent with the quality of the food. The first time we had some seekh kabab, and they were good. Later we ordered goat karahi which was well below par with low quality meat and lots of oil. After that we tried their food twice including goat kabab which was dry, extra spicy and without any taste. Bihari kabob and biryani are ok. Overall, it is not worth returning for the food. Texas King is a meat shop and that's what they do best.
