Awesome place if you get the head chef to cook for you. You have to ask. BBQ items and chicken tikka masala are excellent. Plus they can make special dishes not on the menu if you order in advance. Don't listen to the naysayers about this place. Fishstickeater knows best!

This place seems very dingy and smells horrible. Once you get past the smell, the food is not that great and if u order a chicken wrap expect to only have 3 small pieces of chicken in it. They messed up our order and have us three pieces of lettuce as salad. The people who worked there were in their laptop doing homework or on the phone and didn't care about the customers. In fact they seemed pretty upset that we showed up at 915 and they close at 10. We will never go back again!

I just visited this restaurant and will say I dont ever want to come here again. I had heard good things about their food so i was shocked when i entered their restaurant. the place had a really bad bathroom smell, and the place was not clean. my appetite went away instantly. despite this i decided to try their mixed grill and and cheeseburger. When the lady gave us our waters, mine had a small fly in it. we decided to take out our food and leave. when i tried the cheeseburger there was no cheese on my burger and their mixed grill was alright. still will never come here again.

i am law enforcement employee. Here is my personal opinion about this restaruant. This place has poor service and several health code violation with the City of Irving. Please check website for HEALTH INSPECTOR AND SCORE IS D.RIGHT ABOVE COMPLETE FAILURE. I dont think I need to elaborte more spend your money on a clean and halal meal please. They do not know that they are serving a meal that could get someone sick. I got sick after eating at this place.

Will not go back! The staff had no clue how to run a restaurant buffet. They were rude, the place was not clean and the food was worse. We went for Iftar dinner and the place was hot like an oven.

this is the 2nd time i am coming to Dera Grill and I can say things have gotten worse. The place was crowded and the a/c was broken. We asked them to turn down the temperature and they wouldn't do anything about it. A worker (i believe it was the owner) basically told us to eat our food and get out of the restaurant. It was really hard to eat after that point. You cannot treat customers like that. I will never come back again.

Probably the worst buffet I have ever tried. These guys give Pakistani food a very bad name. It is expensive too, and not worth the price.

We went there this last Sunday with some relatives from Austin. The only good item was chicken kabobs. The rest of the food was not really good. The seating space is very bad as it was too congested. Naans came very late. I think they could not handle the number of ppl showing up. They are advertising a lot on 1110am , but unfortunately the food and service is not upto the standard and its quite expensive too. We plan not to go there again!

Was there on a cold december afternoon for a brunch, place was not clean, all the lights were turned off, it was freezing in there, when asked about the heater, one worker replied "heater i dunno is working or not but the burners under the buffet trays will make the place warm....Very Pathetic!

Will never go there again. Our second visit there and unfortunately the second one was worst then the first one. I went with my friends for saturday lunch buffet. We couldn't find anything worth our $12.99+ Tax + Tip Nihari and Cholay were far away from the acceptable taste. They served Fried Tortill as Puris smelled horrible. Will never go there again.

we went here in December 2010. We only had the grilled items, and those were amazing. Yes, its a bit pricey, but totally worth the money. They have the best bihari and chicken boti. My husband said it was almost as good as pakistan. We live in NJ, but whenever we go back to dallas, we're defi making a stop here. And no, i'm not related to the owner, I dont even know him for that matter.

I don't get why everyone is putting bad reviews about this place. I went on a saturday night with my family the service wasent the best (there was a wait place was packed) but man I'll tell you the food made me give this restraunt 5 stars hands down. Tried the chicken beef kabob lamb chops and Bihari kabob all fresh and taste out of this world! Not to mention amazing hot fresh naan definitely recommend giving it a try. You won't regret it

Only one word can describe this place, AWFULLY DISGUSTING! I had the dreadful experience similar to the reviews posted here. I have been the victim of "good" reviews posted here. I went there with high expectations over the last weekend brunch. It was an ultimate level of disappointment! Trust me, if you are looking for Pakistani food, this place is NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! The food is not even close to an authentic Pakistani flavor. They serve you the worst quality of food at crazy cost! You will do yourself a huge favor for life just by avoiding this place.

I went there reading few of the earlier reviews, I think all those good reviews are from owner himself. If you like to eat good food, you will NOT like this place. totally worthless food, this guy don't even know how to make the most basic Pakistani dishes. Way too Expensive.

i'm not much of a review giving person but i must say this place is not worth going twice! :( the food was tasteless, service was so-so and not much choices going around in the buffet! expensive as compared to the food served! i mean i dont mind spending a few extra bucks as long as the food is good! If you'r new around town looking for a nice place to dine... trust me, this is not the place to go! wont recommend this place to anyone! horrible tasteless food! :(

Dera Grill -- HELL NO. Will never go there again. This was my second visit there and unfortunately the second one was worse then the first one. I was with 3 other families for saturday lunch buffet. We all were struggling to find one good thing worth our $12.99+ Tax :( Even the very basic dishes like Nihari and Cholay were far away from the acceptable taste. There were no side serving for Haleem. They cut corners every where, for Puris they were serving Fried Tortillas that smelled horrible. Will never go there again EVEN FOR FREE!

Initially I gave it 5 stars, then 4 stars and now 2 stars. Their kababs and naan are good. Everything else is not so great. Their Italian and American foods ARE HORRIBLE. I asked for Philly Cheese Steak and I got a soft roll with keema in it. The workers were so embarassed serving it that no one as a courtesy asked if the food was good. I am not going there again. Too expensive as well.

Food was good and we liked the dishes.. Tasty Grill items and Kabobs ... But they should keep the table and floors clean after each customer is done..

Very tasty grill items. Their double kebab and bihari kebabs are the best I have eaten. Will go there again for buffet and try other items.

Their food is good especially their double kabab which has both beef and chicken, Karahi is good as well, Philly cheesesteak was average. "Bun Kabab" would remind you Pakistani school canteens or Pakistani small shop burgers. LoL they have two different halls service is fine. Haven't yet tried their buffet. First time I went there I asked the Mexican who was serving us that if the place use Halal meat and she had no idea what is "Halal" or "Zabihah" then I asked another guy at counter the same question and he had no idea about it either nor did the cook but another Pakistani man came out of door and assured that the place is Halal. So I was reluctant to go there again, so I went there again on Sunday to confirm and pretty much all people working there were Pakistani and after looking the people who were eating there I was satisfied enough that the place is Halal, but if they would put Halal sign or if someone can confirm this it would really be appreciable.

food is good... but is not managed properly... we had to wait for 2 hours to get the food... we were doing self service...

Just visited the restaurant, great host and customer service (owner Mr. Babur) from Lahore, Pakistan. The restaurant is clean, nice clean stilling area and service is fast and very welcoming, food is great with a lot of Pakistani variety from grilled food to curry and fast food take away!
