Great zinger chicken, chicken panini and bucket of broasted chicken. See my video review on YouTube at Halal Digest.
Zinger burger and fries were soggy and so messy. Good luck getting good service when ordering. The guy at the counters don't speak English well and just stare at you. Also they don't have fountain drinks, just cans. They're cutting corners here and it's apparent. Gotten worse over time.
Excellent service and a variety of options on the menu. Clean place with seating, and responsive staff. The zinger is like most chicken sandwiches, but it is Halal and worth trying and supporting our community. We found the fried chicken oily so give them a try for gryos etc.
Was visiting Chicago with 6 other friends and we decided to stop here for a late dinner. Coming from Toronto which in my opinion is a leader in halal fried/broast/baked/grilled chicken, i found this restaurant to be average at best. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it came out very oily and the chicken taste was overpowered by the oil. On top of that, the bun was kinda floppy and the sauces were soaked into the sandwich. I didn't really enjoy it that much, but maybe I need to go there again to have a better experience. The cashier and servers were really friendly especially when they were about to close up shop and they keep the place pretty clean. They have a plethora of other items as well like Gyros and Philly Sandwiches so if you haven't gone, you should, but I probably wont.
This place has fell off in quality in recent months. The zinger used to be delicious but now it's sub-par. I think it's because store traffic is heavy so they rush through making the burger. Same with the Peri Peri burger. Used to be good but now it's below average. Don't even bother with platters.
this is the most awful money grabbing place in Chicago land. the fast food copy out of KFC and is made from crap. the service sucks. i was at this location the other day in Lombard. i gave my order, dude at the front counter was ALI I guess Pakistani with glasses. no manners at all about customer service and if a paying customer is there. behind me was his friends.. who he took care of so fast and they talking out loud in front of little kids and saying bad words in Urdu... what a joke... ALI brings out there food before anyone... even offers them to come back and pick there drinks.... for people who are not paying he is taking care of them better than paying customers.. this is a joke... then I asked if i was able to get hot sauce with my zinger sandwich.. his respond, \"i gave you ketchup, right? now for hot sauce is extra 25 cents every time. But I will give it this time.. then post that somewhere so people will know. and this not how you get customers to come back.... that attitude is so Pakistani... just cuz there busy now they can treat people like however they want. when they first open they begged people to come in... anyway.. the zinger sandwich is not good at all.. they fried a piece of chicken which was hard as brick, and put some mayo on it.. that there special... give me a break... this is a joke..... I will not go back and i hope no one ever goes back after trying this crap..... so many better options then these lames.
Depending on the menu choice the food can be great. We had health issues after eating from this place. Customer Service: Great - nice from the start till we left the place Quality: Had a health issue where my whole family got sick. One after another were throwing up. When I called to speak to the owner, I was told that the owner would call back, which he never did. Meat Authenticity: For those who are indifferent about this... this section is not for you to read. All inquiries are dated. As with everything in life, changes occur and meat sources can also change. So call, be respectful and ask. This restaurant is certified by Halal Advocates Pros: Quick service, Sandwiches were great. Cons: Family got sick. Overall Experience: I will not be going to this place again being concerned for our health. I understand not all folks have experienced the same issues, how a company reacts to the concern when raised is critically important as well.
I have eaten here on several occasions, and the food is pretty good. The Zinger burger is very good. It does take time to make the order, as its all cooked right there right then. If your in a hurry, you may want to call ahead, and place an order.
I found this place overrated. Zinger sandwich is overrated. Their broasted chicken is probably the best thing on the menu. It's different than the kfc across the streat since its broasted and not fried but my friends and I like kfc more cause it's spicy, that extra kick makes a huge difference. I think if they added a spicy broasted chicken option they would absolutely kill it. It's not that complicated either, I hope they look into it.
Went there with friends as my cousin recommended the place. The Broasted chicken was excellent, gyros cheese burger nice and juicy, the guy at the counter had us try their new quesadilla which was good too. the service was smooth and friendly and food was fresh and tasty. will recommend to everyone. We revisited on our recent trip to chicago, and couldnt be more happy.... my wife had the zinger and i had their philly steak panini.... they were both delicious and our kids love the nuggets and tenders. and if you did not nkow they have Funnel Cakes, if you are visiting or live in the area do try it, we recommend to every one.
Ehhh, the food was sub par, tried Gyros & Phily Steak Sandwich and both sandwich were bad. The gyros was from packaged meat that you can buy in stores and not fresh While philly Cheese steak was super dry and no cheese. You would think when you have cheese in the name, you would have cheese in the food. I am not sure if I want to try anything else from this establishment after trying this sandwiches. Another let-down by yelp reviewers. Overall, food taste bad for the price & quantity.
AMAZING food (go about once a week!) Try there Peri-Peri sandwich and you will want another. I'm not a huge fan of the Zinger, but my wife loves it! People who complain need to realize that this is an actual HALAL place with reasonable prices and good service! Please help brothers like this to keep Halal places open!
Alhumdulilah our experience at this establishment has been amazingly consistent, thats why i decided to write a review. Our family is a regular here and have tried most of the items they have to offer. Zinger burger is excellent, their new southwest burger is delicious. The brother working there is very courteous and welcoming. Its very diff to gind a 100% zabihah place and that also which has a certification. They r certified by Mufti Abdullah Nana team. I will definitely recommend you to try it when your in the area. Their broasted chicken is exceptional. Will be going back again and again inshaAllah.
As it much I would like to support legit Muslim business', I feel like this place has changed dramatically due to the new ownership. I had the zinger burger and it was not cooked. It was difficult to bite into the burger. The taste was bland. The masala fries were not crispy at all. The previous owners apparently cooked up a mad zinger burger. I would recommend going to the BBQ joint next door. Update (02/10/2014): I had the Zinger burger again and this time around it was really good. Maybe the ownership has changed again. The burger was tender and juicy with the perfect amount of sauce. The first time around I could barely bite into the burger. The only issue is that the bun is too small for the chicken. Update (03/10/2014): I am now convinced that my first experience was an aberration. I had the Zinger again it was amazing. Rating changed to five stars.
A friend brought some take out the other day from here, which had their zinger burger. Which as other have noted before me was EXCEPTIONAL, Nice crispy chicken, perfectly seasoned. As i was in the vicinity i drop by here and tried their Peri Peri Chicken Sandwich, which was equally good, the Peri peri sauce had that kick to it which went well with the char grill flavor.. All and all two thumbs up for this place . If you are in lombard area this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to everyone.
After trying their zinger and broasted chicken at halal festival in uic we finally got around to visit the place. As expected it was excellent. we had their zinger ofcourse and chicken panini. my friend ordered the peri peri wings.. the young man behind the counter gave us a sample of their new sandwich Mr beef which was good too.
Visiting from Tampa and found this listing on the zabihah app. First of all, the customer service was excellent. This set the tone for the rest of the meal. Zinger Burger hit the spot. Nice level of spice and very tender chicken on the inside surrounded by a very crispy and crunchy outside smothered in delish sauce. Fries were also a pleasant surprise. Battered and flavored nicely. Mango Lassi was good too. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. Wish it was a little colder, but nothing some ice at home didnt fix. Overall I wish the owners would consider opening a branch in Tampa :-)
Had the zinger burger. Very overrated. Good quantity for price but not that appetizing. Might go back to try other items though
Good zinger burgers! Personally not the biggest fan of Peri peri sauce however overall food is good. They need to expand the inside of their restaurant! Certified by Halal Advocates!
We heard about this place from friends and stop by to check it out. Peri Peri wrap was just amazing, my wife tried the Zinger burger which was excellent as others mentioned. will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
The food is okay, (2.5/5 ) the burgers and subs were spicy. small place and not for a big group or family. friendly staff.
Management seems to have changed. Very welcoming and courteous. Broast is now excellent- crunchy and tasty. Better than KFC! Previously was soggy and bland. Zinger burger is amazing. Visible kitchen was well kept and clean.
Chicken burger is ok. Not much tasty patty. Oily and the breadcrumbs needs to change, at present looks like what they use for samosa.
Im from NYC and come here every few months to visit family. I see that theres new ownership now and they increased their prices way too high. I will not come here again. Too expensive for avg food!
great zinger burger and panini, broast is good also.
excellent, and with the certification (mufti abdullah nana team) giving it the green light, no complaints,
The zinger burger was excellent. Philli steak was also pretty decent. The only complaint is that I have found this place closed on multiple occasions and that is very inconvenient when you travel many miles to eat here.
This is a local place for my wife and I. We come here atleast once a week. Great zabiha halal american fast food.
The chicken is halal but the food quality is very low. The burger chicken patti have a lot of batter, more than the thickness of the chicken piece! The quality of the food is so low that I m not sure how is he still in business. Instead of giving a big order like I did, order just one thing and try it out and see if u like it. The wait time though is 15-20 mins as he fries every thing after he gets the order, so may be call him ahead of time.
I usually dont write reviews good or bad. But this place is great. B4 i converted to Islam. i used to eat at other places, and let me tell you this place is close to any another name brand american restaurants except mr. halal is zabiha halal. Great philly steak and chicken paninis. One of the best i ever had. Also tried their gyros paratha roll. Wow, it was very tasty, just a little spicy for me.
100% Certified Zabiha Halal restaurant!(Certified by HFSAA / MUFTI ABDULLAH NANA! We serve all american and few pakistani specialties. We do special accomadations for religious oraganizations. (CPSA, IFS, MSI, ICN) are few to get catering orders from us. Plese contact us for your next religious event, for special rate!
well above avg place, food wasnt bad at all. their zinger burger and philly steak panini both were good
Best philly steak panini and gyros paratha rolls. Famous zinger was very good aswell.....
We were traveling from Fl. Came out here today on sunday and wish there were places like this in FL. Not a huge muslim population there. We all had broasted chicken, roasbeef panini, philly steak panini. Everything MA was great.
Thoroughly Disappointed- The Good, The Bad the Ugly The Good: I had the philly cheese steak panini and it was good. It was not exactly a cheese steak since they used gyro meat to make it but it tasted good. The Bad: Lets start with the french fries. I am sorry but they were PATHETIC. How can you mess up something as simple as that. They were not fresh, soggy and just dint taste right. Next did someone recommend the garlic sauce. This is not how you make Garlic Sauce! It was watery and just plain bad. And finally the biggest let down, the broasted chicken. I have had it at several places back home and was really looking forward to eating halal broasted. The broasted here was tasteless, chicken was raw and left a weird after taste in my mouth. I had a bite or 2 and just threw away the rest. Really, really Disappointed! The Ugly: I left feeling bummed out because the place had high ratings on Zabihah and it rarely gets it so wrong. Initially I thought may be a one off thing but I went back and read the reviews again and I got it. Most of the reviews are FAKE accounts. All this just left me sick in the stomach (pun intended).
Great food and great service. Stopped by while passing through. One suggestion I would like to make is to add some grilled options, as everything on the menu currently is fried.
Im new in this area. I've tried few different local places b4 i found out about this one. Actually i over heard these girls taking about this place, so iasked them about it since im new here. Tell you what this place was much much better than last few places i tried. Finally i can focus on school and go eat good zabiha halal food @ Mr. Halal.
Lol. Nice job shazia baji u beat me to it. Well review b4 me from shazia baji is very true. Shes my cousin and we all went together to Mr. Halal. Deff very good sandwiches, rolls etc.
Salaam. Whatever i tried was superb.. but if you new to this place then start out with zinger burger, philly steak pannini and gyros paratha. I luv their broasted chicken and chargha too. In my opinion theres no one like Mr. Halal . Very unique and great food.....
Really great place, good food - RECOMMEND!
been coming to this place for a while now, always good consistant food. Always eat their famous zinger but today i tried their philly steak panini. not only that it was unique, it was a amazing sandwich. this guy comes up with unique items for real. im impressed. spoke to him and he said he will be bringing beef burgers and gyro soon I.A. go and try it yourself!
Im from Ontario, heard about this place over there. Since i was visiting family here i came to try it out. Zinger burger was amazing! Unique burger. Also had 2pc broasted chicken. It was good aswell. Owner recommended homemade garlic sauce, it went perfect w/ that chicken. Keep it up guys. M.A.
average place average food....
Best broasted chicken, remind me of karachi with that white garlic sauce. Chargha was very tasty, took 30min but was well worth it. Everything is made to order, so next time i will call ahead. No more kfc. Their mango shake was good too.
I have been there a few times and the main reason for us to go was the good things we heard about the zinger burger. We tried the zinger and it was great. Other items such as turkey sandwich and beef sandwich are good too. But when went back last week, much to our surprise the zinger was completely modified. It had a strong taste of long/cloves and the cut used was different too. We preferred the original zinger and I am somewhat perplexed as to why the recipe of the main attraction was changed altogether! 3.5 stars.
We were recommended by a family member. Great food, great service. Very friendly. We had zinger burger, shami kabab roll, chicken puffs, biryani, chargha, mango shake. Everything was really good. It was our first time but it wont be last. Keep it up.
This place is a hidden gem. There food is great and now they added desi food. We had biryani, chicken 65, mix chaat to go. It was very tasty biryani and chaat. Deff spreading the word around. Everyone must try there desi food! They doing catering aswell. Everything is 100% zabiha halal
I've been going to this place for quite some time. They caught me by surprise last sat when i went there and seen a sign for sindhi biryani. There food is great but i was bit skeptical about their biryani but let me tell you people it was the best i had in entire chicagoland. I mean all of these desi restaurants couldnt compete with it. It was great. They are having other specialties during Ramadan kareem for iftari. I recomend everyone to atleast try it once.
I tried Mr. Halal Broaster's food at a mela/exhibition event. Great value for great price. Have not experienced the restaurant environment, but the workers at the event were very pleasant and friendly. Definitely recommended.
I heard of this place and being that i have never been there i decided to go online and read some of the reviews. Being that must of the reviews are good i decided to try it and let me tell you that i am glad i did. I had a zinger burger and my friend had sweet and spicy wrap, they were both very good. I would also like to add that the customer service there is excellent! It seems they truley care about there customers. I know it is very hard to please everyone but keep up the good work, u guys are doing a great job. I will def be back and try some more items on the menu
I ate here earlier today. The Zinger Burger is OK but w-a-a-a-y-y overrated in some of the reviews here. I also had a Sweet & Spicy Wrap which was really good. The fries that came with Zinger was not good at all, it was stale. I may return to this this place again if I am in the area but I will not especially drive a long distance, like i did today after reading the exagerated reviews.
WE used to go to KFC but stopped going there. Im not too sure about their food being zabiha halal. MR halal broaster is getting their chicken from crescents so it zabihah halal. Broasted chicken was much better than kfc. Not greasy and juicy, very tasty. Their white sauce was very tasty with chicken. They have alot more items. Next time we will try their famous zinger burger, heard alot of good things about that burger.
Great food. Went with my family. We had zinger burger, charbroiled chicken sandwich, broasted chicken, buffalo wrap. Everything mashAllah was very good. Deff will recomend friends and family. Will go back again to eat more of that zinger burger. mmmmmmmmmmmm yummy!
I went with my friends for the first time to this restaurant, Initially i was not so happy thinking they have the same food as others full of oil and salty but when I tried Zinger chicken it was awesome, everyone like their food and it was not at all salty. I would recommend others to go there and I will go there again and again specially for zinger chicken Keep the quality and taste you will go more further inshallah
I was told by my friends to go to Mr. Halal. I was very pleased. Food was great. Owner Kashif bhai was very informative and professional. Will back go over and over again. They are 100% zabiha halal.
The food at Mr. Halal was AMAZING. We had the Zinger Burger combo and the taste was really good with just the right amount of flavor. We will definitely be going back often to pick up some meals from there.
Salaam, Kashif it was a great experiance at your restaurant. MashAllah the food was great, so were the prices. Keep up the good work.
I have tried the Roast Beef Sandwich and it was very good and will try it again. I've also tried the Chicken Pieces from the Zinger Sandwich and they were very tasty as well. I plan on going back and trying their Italian Beef. My mother have tried the Zinger Sandwich and she really like that too.
Very happy to have authentic zabiha halal american fast food place. Food was very good. The zinger burger is a must have burger. Its little different than karachi but still very very tasty. Also tried their turkey and roast beef paninis. My wife and i liked it. The prices are very reasonable. I will definetly go back again and again.
I was sadly disappointed. First of all, any effort to provide halal zabiha food is welcome, may Allah reward them for this. However, I have to be very honest in this review, my niyyah is not to nit-pick, but only to help better the quality of all halal restaurants. Alhamdulillah we have many options in this area, and most people will try anything once. However, you have to earn people's second visit and that may be a problem here. 1) Reuben sandwich: There was only one thin layer of meat! Some overlap in the middle where it was 1.5 layer, but that's horrible. If you've seen a real reuben its supposed to be stuffed with meat, like 7-8 layers of meat, ¾ inch stack of meat. I have eaten many of these before I became zabiha-only, this was really not good. For $5 all you get is rye bread and one layer of so-so tasting corned beef. I'm not sure if there was sauerkraut or not, it tasted like cabbage, definitely no bite to it. My wife was fasting today, this was supposed to be her iftar! 2) Chicken nuggets: small pre-frozen nuggets. It is very very very easy to take fresh chicken breast, slice small strips, batter them, then fry. I do this for my kids all the time. Please take the extra effort to do this. 3) Zinger sandwich: Okay flavor, but very small pieces of chicken. Again, the flavor was okay, but please a little more meat for the $5. I would have enjoyed this is there was a large juicy piece of chicken or if it was on a 99 cent menu. In summary, the while the prices are not too bad, it is not justified by the amount of meat and overall quality. The good news is that these are fixable problems. A tip for when you start making burgers: Buy beef shoulder (chuck) and grind it. Fresh Market on North Ave has this and will grind it for you, it makes a naturally fatty and juicy burger.
I tried their broast chicken and a chicken sandwich and the food was pretty good. Will definitely go back again.
Salam Kashif, First of all i wanted to congratulate you on opening your new restaurant. In my opinion the location you have chosen is a good one and should make your business prosperous. There is definitely a large muslim community in the surrounding area of your location. Second....Lets talk Burgers. I live in Oak Brook Terrace. After lots of experience in the culinary arts, i came to the conclusion that the best Burgers in the chicago-land area are from "Faizan's pizzaria and grill" in Hanover Park(specifically the "Angry Bulls Eye Burger"). To get to the point quicker, gas is expensive and i cant go to Hanover park all the time. People sometimes tell me they like the burgers from Tahoora on Devon. But after eating at Faizans, Tahooras burgers are like choking on a newspaper. Like most restaurants, you claim you have "juicy burgers" which i cannot deny before actually trying it. I strongly advise you to one day sneak into Faizans, and kind of dissect theirs and find whats good and what makes it good and maybe the variety of burgers. (I'm sure you will like the Burgers) Then, Give the burger a reasonable price for example "1/2 lb. cheeseburger with some fries and (possibly) a coke for around 5 bucks" or "2 Burgers, large fries, and a coke for maybe 9-10 bucks . I also advise that you serve milkshakes. Faizans Milkshakes are NOT good. I think its a 16oz cup for almost 4 bucks. You may be able to get an idea from Steak n Shake, and they have generous sizes, too. To conclude, I really hope that your business is successful and is a good eating experience for the Lombard/Villa Park Muslim Community. p.s- Keep pricing reasonable to consumers because a lot of times teens walk in and don't have a lot of money.in other words, Take 4 bucks for a burger or 0 bucks and lack of business due to high prices.
Can't wait for this place to open. They will have all 100% certified chicken from Crecent Chicken all all hand raised Zabihah Halal chicken in your neighborhood. Plus more options besides Chicken.
