The food was ok but a bit pricy. The chicken was nice but nothing special.
The food is lovely here, very well presented and tasty. I know there are other good Italian restaurants in Newcastle under Lyme but this is a very nice one in Hanley and is a good standard. You can park nearby on the Marsh Street car park.
1st time visiting with the wife and I must say we were very disappointed. Environment - Nicely decorated, playing typical Italian music. Nice but not as cosy because the saloon was cold and the music was playing a bit too loud. Staff were friendly and polite. As starters we had: - 1x Tomato Soup; - 1x Mozzarella Fritti. Soup was excellent! Very fresh, very tasty, loved it! Nice garlic butter bread toast with it. Mozzarella Fritti was cold in the middle, and the cheese a bit flavourless. Did not reach the melting point. Outside crust was nice but overall just average. Mains: - 1x Pizza Vesuvio; - 1x Pizza 4 formaggi. Only thing good about the pizzas I could say was the freshness and the quality of the ingredients, I can't fault that. Other than that, never had before an Italian pizza where the dough looked like pancake dough. To go to a proclaimed Italian place and you get a dough almost as heavy as Domino's or Pizza Gogo it's just wrong, it's not Italian style. Thi pizza was floppy and had absolutely no crunchiness to it, if you see the photos you'll think the wood fire oven serves for decoration purposes only. The base was't cooked enough. We brought back home half of it in a box (I know the air fryer will save them). The waiting time between the starters and the pizza was a bit above the average which I wouldn't have minded if the pizzas were good. Really sad because because I was hyped up for this place.
What a little gem 💎 ✨️ 😍 I would strongly recommend that you visit. The meat balls are made daily and you can tell!! The pasta is out of this world and the king prawns are to die for. If you are ordering sides i would recommend the cheesey garlic bread and it will easily accommodate for 2 people. Let's not forget they make their out desserts ! If you want fresh ingredients and freshly made food you need to try portfofino. Great value for money.
We went for a works Christmas meal that was organized a few months previous. We paid a £5 deposit per person and had to pre order out food a few days beforehand. The venue itself was beautiful and Christmassy. The staff we were so helpful and accommodating, as we needed to pay separately - some cash, some card. The food was excellent and tasty.
Visited 5th of October, Beautiful and well decorated restaurant, incredible service with a smile, lovely food, hits the spot and they don’t skimp out on the cheese on the pizzas/calzones which is usually my biggest frustration with restaurants. Marco the owner was lovely and down to earth. Genuinely have nothing to whinge at, will be visiting again
