This used to be the place to go for Persian food, specially for a late dinner... as they remain open quite late due to the restaurant being in the middle of UCI campus. The prices lately have skyrocketed. What used to be $5.99 or $6.99 is now $9.99 or $10.99. For those kind of prices there are so many other Persian options in Irvine, Lake Forest and Mission Viejo etc. that are proper sit down restaurants with real flatware and plates. I still would recommend them for their freshly baked thin crust Naans and unlimited Chai or Tea. As far as taste is concerned they are just alright.
This is the best fast casual Persian restaurant in Irvine. It\'s not super fancy. It\'s not somewhere you would celebrate a special occasion. But it is a nice spot to go to for lunch. AND, just as important, it\'s open later than any other Persian restaurant in the area. And the (casual) service is just excellent. They give everyone complimentary tea/chai. Each order comes with a huge freshly baked bread. If it\'s not crowded, you can just sit down and play a game of backgammon for hours. I take my co-workers here all the time. Again, not super fancy, but if you\'re feeling casual Persian food or late night Persian food, this is the place.
This is a casual Persian style restaurant located near the UCI campus. Hen House carries the well known array of Persian delicacies such as Kobideh, Kebob, Lamb etc. Their entrées are delicious and prices reasonable. This place has a very casual and laid back ambiance due to the presence of UCI students from the nearby campus. Some of their kebob dishes come with naan which is a rarity among Persian restaurants. We enjoyed our dinner and plan to return back soon. Highly recommended for the young and the old alike.
I ate a lot dizi in there, really was delicious with fresh bread and vegetables.
Been here a couple of times for lunch. Very good food, decent prices, and a clean place.
Been here a few times and is very busy. The food is good for the price they offer. However, the last time I went I notice there halal certificate has expired.
It's a very laid back place and the food is good with a reasonable price. It's usually very busy. For Persian food, I highly recommend it!
I would highly recommend their dark chicken with bone and the bread but besides that i have tried chicken steak and boneless chicken which were quite bland.
The lunch specials are really good and prices at about $5 to $9. I had the 3 chicken piece combo, with hummus, naan, and rice, all for $6.99. It was very tasty. I give the restaurant a 4.5, and it's really affordable.
Decent halaal food. Regular Persian menu with Kababs, Rice, eggplant dishes etc
