This is the old address. The other listing is the correct one. It is a very nice place. Verbal assurance given that food is Hallal. We have been there a number of time and always had a good time.
Good food but very expensive. The service is inconsistent and generally poor. They showcase their wine selection and have annoying live music on weekends. Probably ok for take outs but there are other options instead of this establishment in the area.
Nothing special, I was expecting more...went twice. First time was ok, but second one terible mistake :( not the same quality of food, maybe different cook...but that is something they need to take care of.
Yes, this place sells alcohol...ok now that we've established that. The food is great. The servers are very attentive and nice. The owner is has really nice manners and good customer service. This is an upscale place, the decor proves it and so does their service. My husband and I enjoyed listening to the live classical instruments. Very romantic, I may add. Delicious kabobs, succulent and juicy!
Good food but EXPENSIVE. Not the place for Persian food if you are on a budget. Food was good but no differnet than most Perian places. Had my children with me and I asked them to split the plate for them, they could not do that unless I paid an extra fee. Thats a first for me, most restaurants are happy to oblige. Expect a long wait on weekend evening
Verbal assurance from staff that all the meat is halal. Went here with a large group for dinner. Service was great. Food was excellent. Tried the combo platter with chicken kebabs and shish kebab (filet mignon)- the meat was tender and everything tasted great! Also tried the eggplant dip and yogurt with Persian flat bread. Good stuff. Topped off with some hot Persian tea! This place has two levels and is nicely decorated. They also have a live piano player who also sings. Good stuff. The prices are reasonable considering the large size portions they serve. I recommend this place if you are going out to celebrate a happy occasion or with a large group.
Menu is fully 100% halal. I contacted them and they even gave me the name and number of the meat supplier. Went with my hubby on a date....was it a great experience or what! They even have live sax player, which makes it so relaxing! Beautiful and classy dining. Owner came to all the tables with a rice dish, complimentary! He was soo friendly and respectful. He also himself told my husband and I how everything is halal....it was our first time, but many more to come when in town! P.S. they do serve alcohol, i know my brothers and sisters are cringing at the thought of it being served there. Im sure owner is thinking for the purpose of inviting the non-muslims there....hey, we go buy our groceries from supermarkets that sell all kinds of stuff.....my opinion is try it out, you can go judge yourself.
I dont think their full menu is halal. Call ahead of time. Somewhat expensive.
Phenomenal on all counts! My husband and I were so impressed with this place. The decor was impeccable, service was attentive, food was delicious (especially their lean steak) and the live jazz playing in the background all made for a memorable experience. You won't be disappointed!
This place has wonderful food, great presentation, good size portions, etc. I have been to may persian restaurants in the area and this has to be the best. The filet mignon is wonderful and the waiter we had was helpful and advised us honestly about not eating the fish as the meats are their speciality. Does serve alcohol, though.
I would never go to this restaurant again. One day after work when I wasn't feeling very well, I went to this restaurant to get take-out. The lady at the counter kept telling me to go the bar to order, pay and pick up my food despite my insistence I did not want to do so. She also proudly announced she converted to Christianity and was "soooooo happy. It's soooooo good." Anyway, she did help me but insisted I pick up my food from the bar. I did and upon leaving I said to her, "I don't know why you call your food halal and yet you make people go get their food from the bar. That's a lack of respect." Well, the manager didn't even hear exacly what I said or knew what happened and she jumped all over me, getting really nasty. It created a big scene. Anyway, to make a long story short...I was told, "Darya is providing a 'service' to YOUR community and food passing through a bar does not make it najis...I'm not going to argue Islamic law with you..." Anyway, I have never been treated so rudely in my life by any restaurant and despite the manager's apology, the food being very good and its close proximity to me, I really don't feel this restaurant is serving our community with practices and attitudes like that. I would suggest going to a REAL halal restaurant.
The food is good but i dont like the fact that they serve alcohol. it was actually a very big turn off.
I went with my wife and she noticed the wine collection out front. The beef kabob was excellent, however, I'm now doubting returning since they serve alcohol. Lunch was $45 (two appetizers included).
Halal or not, the food is good. But the place is a little too proud of their booze collection. Stay away from this pit.
A very elegant, upscale Persian restaurant, with excellent food and also live entertainment (piano) on weekends/evenings. Located very close to the John Wayne International Airport and nearby Orange County hotels, just north of the South Coast Plaza. A nice place to take business clients or family for special occasions.
