I don’t even want to give one star but no other choice. I usually shop at this IGA because it’s close to my house. But yesterday October 13, 2025, I had a very disappointing experience. I went there to buy chicken breast and spaghetti. After purchasing, I walked about 40 meters away and noticed that the chicken breast packet was broken on the side. I hadn’t seen it earlier because I was in a hurry and trusted the store’s quality. I immediately went back to the store and informed the girl at the counter. Instead of helping, she said maybe I dropped it, which was quite ridiculous. Then the manager came and said the same thing, insisting that anything could have happened and refused to exchange or replace the item. He said he would check the camera, and I requested to see the footage because I knew I hadn’t damaged it. They made me wait for around 20 minutes while he checked the footage. When he came back, he spoke to the girl in another language, and then told me that the packet was fine when she gave it to me, basically blaming me again. I left the chicken there because I didn’t feel safe eating something that had a broken seal. I also left the money I had paid for it, as I didn’t want to argue any further. The whole experience left me very upset. The manager and the cashier were both rude and unprofessional. I won’t be going there again and would not recommend this IGA to anyone. I trusted them, but they handled the situation very poorly and without any customer respect.
