Dinning experience was good, food was very tasty and service was good and courteous. They DO serve alcohol so be aware. Food quality is high and so is the price. Rating would be higher is not for the alcohol
The chenjeh, grilled steaks pieces and koobideh are awesome! Decent atmosphere.
food is really good but service is a bit slow
They sell alcohol, and don't seem too focused on the Halal nature of their food. I dont know where the food comes from, but it doesn't look promising.
the food is grate, service is very good specielly waiter Mehdi I always go their with my family also when I wanna ivite people I will never be disappointed. I recommend all the food they serve
Food was decent. Wasn't too happy of the fact that he advertises halal but sells alcohol. Won't go there again.
The food is great and fresh, if you are prepared to pay $30 - $40 person then you will not be disappointed as the service is good.
I live in MOntreal, but drive all the way to Toronto just to go to this restaurant. I love the food, the chicken is very tender and melts in your mouth, the apetizers are great and help the waiting time, I recommend the kashke bademjoon with home made bread. I also called and asked the honour about where he buys his meat, he assured me that all of the meet is hala and that once I come to the restaurant I will see certificates of where they buy there meet and a certificate from ISSRA assuring that the meet is halal. So last time I went to Zaffron I decied to take a picture of the ISSRA certigicate for anybody that has doubts about this place. True they do have a bar but it must be taken into consideration that they quater not only muslims. To see the picture pls go to this adress http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/6756/img3570lr3.jpg
love the food.. nice staff. recommend the borg chicken kabob.
I was not aware of the questionable comments before I went. I was told the food was entirely halaal. The food was excellent. We recommend the kebob dishes!
An excellent place for family or just a couple. A bit expensive but the food is very good
I like Zaffron's because they fill a need for finer halal dining. The chicken barg / kebob is awesome. For Indo/Paks looking for spicy you won't get that and may find a bit bland. During my most recent visit my friend's stake was awesome but the chicken in my pasta was rubbery and dry. The staff seemed unconcerned that I sent it back with all the chicken untouched even after they asked and I told them why.
By the name of Allah. When I once asked the owner where he buys his meat from, he insulted me and then hung up the phone. Later, when an Iranian friend spoke to the owner in Farsi, the owner refused to admit where he buys his meat from. I would avoid this restaurant, not only because their meat is of questionable origin, but also because they have a HUGE bar with wine and alcohol glasses on display.
I have mixed feelings about this place. I've been 3 times, and have had different experiences in all three. Service was slow all times, food portions were plentiful, but I found the food bland. My friends' steak was tough, my veal parmigianna was rubbery but the atmosphere is great. Everything is pricey about $17 for a plate of veal parmagianna. Also, when I last checked, there menu DID have a pasta sauce that contained ham! They said they bought the sauce ready made. Not sure I would go back.
"Not only do they sell alcohol, but some of the food dishes have sauces which contain alcohol as it states in the menu! Be careful...better still don't risk it!"
Service is not that nice. takes approx 14 mins to get food. This place sells wine as well, so be careful. My recommendation is that this place is not suitable for Muslim people.
Very excellent food and very classy environment. Dress code in effect so dress nice. The food isn't that expensive but very tasty. Persian food rocks!
The food is wonderful, the italian section is great as well. The atmosphere and the environment is very cozy and welcoming.
I found the service to be very good. Food is very tasty and restaruant has a nice atmosphere. Specially nice if you are looking for a nicer restaurant to dine at.
For a great selection of Mediterranean and Arab food in a romantic and cozy setting, this is a must see and try!
